FEMORO sata and ide to usb/usb c adapter supports 2.5"/3.5" HDD/SSD, 2.5"/3.5" IDE, SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive; Hard drive converter is retrieve old files, backup, cloning and data recovery device tools. This converter allowing connect to three hard disk drives simultaneously.
Notice
1. For 3.5" IDE drivers and old SATA HDD, you need to connect 12V 2A power adapter and 4-pin power cable provided. Attention please turn on the switch on IDE adapter in the last step.
2. Please try to use the 1 meter USB 3.0 data cable provided instead of the other long data cable.
3. If the device cannot be read, try connecting the data cable to your computer's rear USB port.
For 2.5"/3.5"/5.25" SATA Device
- Please make sure on/off switch is off before connecting to HDD,incorrect connection may cause damage to your hard drive or electrical shock.
- No external power required for 2.5" SATA HDD.
For 3.5"/5.25" PATA(IDE) Device
- Built-in IDE power connector,for easy access of 3.5" or 5.25" IDE Driver.
- Plug IDE power connector to the IDE hard drive.
- Set drive jumper to master single drive mode.
- For jumper settings,please refer to your hard drive manufacturer's documentation.
For 2.5"PATA(IDE) Device
- External power is not required for most 2.5" IDE HDD.

I purchased another brand years ago and it failed on day one. This setup is working well for me. I have over 20+ drives from past systems. (I used to build and repair computer boxes) I've used it so far to recover data from five of the drives. I like the system a lot. So far, I've only used it to work on two drives simultaneously. But I had no trouble or problems with the setup. I can easily recommend the equipment to be used in your data recovery efforts. I haven't attempted to clone a drive. I haven't needed to clone a drive yet. So, I can't give you any information in that direction.

I changed my review from 1 to 4 stars for now...as I finally got it to working again. Did nothing different...just plugged it in again and it started working. Will leave the review at 4 stars to see if it continues working and doesn't have an intermittent problem.Worked great the first two times I used it. Then today...I hooked it up and it would not power up. The power supply seems to be fine, I checked it with a volt meter. But the device will not power up at all. Even tried it with a known good power supply of the same voltage and polarity and still nothing. Total waste of money to be able to use it twice.

My external hard drive had very sensitive, personal and family memories on it and it was no longer being recognized on any computer that I would connect it to, despite all the troubleshooting steps that I tried to get it working.On a last and hopeful effort before considering professional data recovery services, I decided to order this converter and to my pleasant surprise it was able to establish a reading communication with the external hard drive and my computer, and I was able to see all my personal data again and back it up to a secure, reliable location.Thank you so much for a quality product!

Never worked out of the box. Zero power to SATA drives when plugged in. Can't even tell if power is coming from socket to it. Tried multiple 3.5 inch drives and absolutely nothing. Do not purchase this without warning. It was returned within an hour of opening it.

Dismantled old desktop computer, it was able to read CD-ROM / DVD player, the 3.5" DISC drive and removed HDDs...simple to use...recommend a USB port to allow for quick xfer of files to a back up drive.
