ALWAYS READ THE BAD REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY! Pretty much what the other 1-star reviews said. The design prevents the saddles from being lowered to a reasonable height. They also are pressed together so hard that I had to hit it with a hammer to move them forward or back.

This bridge looks nice, had a nice feel to it, but it's really a useless design. The string saddles are grooved in such a way that they prevent any usable string height adjustments. Plus, they are super tightly packed into the bridge case. Again, poor design. I recommend staying away from this one. I find it hard to believe its an actual Fender bridge. I have my doubts.

I bought the Fender High Mass Bridge with "Fender" cast right on it.Not so sure this one is a fender. Can't read that piece of packaging they're using as proof of origin. But, be that as it may.On the issue of super high action and being unable to adjust any lower, the real fender bridge has the very same issue, as it is cast quite a bit thicker than the piece of bent steel it replaces. What I did was, since I had no interest in changing the angle of the neck, I went to a local hobby store.they have various type of thin but precisely measured, wood in stock. Scale model builders and Model railroaders use this stuff to build their stuff.Which makes it perfect for other things like shimming the heel of your guitar's neck an exact amount, with out having to do any extra measuring. And you don't have to buy a lot more than you want.Just don't use balsa wood. It's too soft for the long haul.Take your neck off, and use the neck pocket, to cut it to size. you can cut it with a box cutter, and ruler. or a modeling saw.I mention this stuff because it'll be too fragile for normal carpentry sized tools. You can either drill the holes for the mounting screws, or just cut slots. The stock is cheap, easy to work, and and will raise your neck an exact amount. and which takes the guessing, and "do over's" out of getting your guitar playable again. If you make a mistake, you should have plenty left to start over with, maybe 3 or 4 times.I used one 1.0 mm thick shim and was done. i didn't paint it or stain it. but it's an option. As I said, it's and easy way to way to fix the mile high action issue. The stability of the strings alone, was worth the price of the bridge. The Original was floppy, and sloppy, and left me worried if the strings were going to be where i left them, or was i going to miss? But i also got better tone, and sustain, and overall playability.Mine also mated right up with the original bridge's mounting holes. which i was sweating, as Amazon's text gave the wrong number of screw, after saying it was a direct replacement. But, all's well that ends well, i guess.I bought bridge, I made a shim, I admired it, as it was a lovely shim. I reassembled my guitar, and all was right with my tiny little world. A Happy ending. It made a nice guitar a sweet one.

I doubt this is a genuine Fender product. The strings are much closer together basically leaving aver 1/4" of space on each side of the fretboard as you move from 5th up to highest fret. The measurement is 2.25" from far side of E to other side of G if that makes sense. My friend got it from here and ended up not using it. I was so excited to go to his house and pick it up and then was pretty bummed once it was on and how close it made the string spacing. What is up with that???

the unnecessary raised rings on either side of the string slot in the already bulky saddles really limit the string height adjustment and will leave nearly all fender/squier basses with mile high action without altering the neck angle

Very nice upgrade. Seems to have been a tone improvment to my unprofessional ears. Also just looks a heap better. The added waight doesn't translate into added fatigue.
