Replaced the stock pickups in a 2006 Fender Telecaster Standard, MiM. They sound great, no complaints, no issues with the installation. I recommend these for any Telecaster, unless you want absolute top-tier, and are willing to pay twice the price.

I was very happy with the product. These pickups sound great. They were shipped and packed carefully, mounted on a small piece of plywood in the shape of a pickguard. Easy to read instructions were included. I would recommend these pickups to anyone looking for that vintage sound.

These are very musical and classic sounding tele pickups. I put them in an early 2000s MIM tele with stock pickups and the difference was quite substantial. They are vintage voiced so not super hot, but they have a really pleasant chime and clarity to them that just sounds great. I added a 4 way switch as well so I had to modify the neck pickup by clipping a connection and adding a 3rd wire, but this is a pretty common modification and doesn't affect the sound or performance of the pickup. If you're trying to get high gain or modern voicings from your guitar this set isn't for you but if you want to make an "ok" sounding tele a "great" sounding tele then you've come to the right place.

Got these as my bridge single coil died on my Jap 92 Tele. Just did a straight replacement as the tele was already wired for 'modern'. By gum they are good. I actually cant stop playing now as it sounds so good, got the top end but theres also a great growl. I cant even remember what my guitar sounded like before but I certainly have no complaints and the price was not too shocking. Great upgrade.

This is a great pickup set - once I got a set that worked. I ordered an “amazon warehouse deal†item, and only after installing them did I realize the neck pickup was DOA (dead on arrival) - which is probably why it was a warehouse deal; likely a return, but the previous customer didn’t disclose the problem, OR amazon just didn’t care enough to take it out of circulation.Anyway, I learned a valuable lesson: test the resistance with a multimeter before firing up the soldering iron.I reordered another set from a different vendor, at a great price, and they worked great, sound great, etc. Very happy with them. NOTE: They’re not RPRW, so no middle position hum cancelling! But that’s the vintage correct thing, so deal with it! :-)UPDATE 11/23/23 - these are still rockin’ in my main tele, and it remains one of the best tele sounds I’ve heard. I get lots of positive comments on my guitar tone. I’d like to try the ‘62 fender reissue pickups at some point, as I’ve heard good things; would be an interesting side by side comparison. But these are about perfect to my ears. Great value.

The Fender Pure Vintage '64 Telecaster Pickup Set is a phenomenal set of pickups. I put them in a Tele that I built and they make it sound exactly how a good Tele should. They are powerful enough to sound really good with distortion, but they really shine when played clean to slightly breaking up. They are not so hot and overwound that they lose high end and sound muddy, but they are powerful enough to push your amp if you want. Would definitely buy again, in fact I might buy another set to replace some Tex-Mex pickups, which I really don't like so much anymore after playing these.

I have a 2011 American Standard Tele. Ash body. Maple neck. I love this guitar, particularly on the neck pickup. But, to be honest, I thought the stock pickups were overall just a bit lacking. I swapped in the Vintage 64 and Wow! It was like I bought a new guitar. These pickups give you that warm vintage Tele sound with snap and distinct articulation. Nice and responsive with dimension and punch when you attack. All three positions are now true options for me.I would mostly use the neck pick up on the stock set up and occasionally the middle position. I only used the bridge when playing through my Fulltone. Now each position gives me great sound yet very distinctive. I couldn’t be happier that I made this investment.

Bought these for my '09 MIM Classic 60s Telecaster. Great vintage sound for this particular guitar and period correct. The guitar used to be pretty good for sound, but now it really sings! The neck pickup especially sounds sweet. Wired to a 4 way switch and it has a lot of tonal versatility. Definitely recommend! My other best set of Tele pickups are the 51 nocasters these are very comparible in my opinion.

These are not the correct pickups at all... nothing is right about them. No staggered poles, wrong wiring, poor construction, wrong base plates... where was the QC when these were picked? This has totally wrecked an important Christmas gift, and delayed the whole project... never will I buy from these again. According to the pickup identification code (048610) , these are USA standard pickups in a 64 box.

These Amazon Warehouse bought pickups were not from Fender. Fender did not release these with a black base - only grey. Also there was no output.
