Festool pads feature the StickFix hook and loop design for quick and efficient abrasive changes, and enable re-use of partially used abrasives. A highly-resilient, heat-resistant MPE foam is utilized in all our pads for consistent finishing results, uniform wearing, and extended pad life. Complicated place needed sanding. The edge of the original pad got chewed up. Hook and loop made it easy to replace.

Wear of velcro plate in the corner is a problem of all triangular-shaped sanders. You press too hard, wear out your sheet of sanding paper, and velcro on the pad goes next. Festool came up with a quite ingenious idea to attach velcro pad to the plate also on velcro, so that it can be easily removed, turned 120 degrees to use each of 3 corners, or even flipped upside down to use the other 3 corners on the other side. It is super easy to remove from the plate and re-attach. This $25 package contains two soft triangular pads.These StickFix pads come in two versions, soft (the same that comes with the tool) and hard. Soft, obviously, works better on not perfectly flat surfaces in cases when it is not critical if the surface is very flat. Hard pad is preferred when flatness is desired and important.Everything Festool is usually very expensive, but this part is an exception in all respects as it better designed, and it comes much cheaper per replacement corner than any other brand I know. The price actually comes down to about two dollars per corner of the pad. For most sanders, where the corner can be replaced, it starts from $5 plus shipping (I remember replacing one on Black and Decker sander), and if cannot be replaced separately, the whole plate can be $20+.

I wish these would last longer than they do. I had to work in very tight corners on beams overhead, and to get the corners you had to tilt the tool to only use the corners if you wanted to remove any materials. This wore down the corners very quickly. It is very smart that there are 6 corners per pad, but man are they expensive.

Backing pads for the RO90 496802 sanding attachment. They work well and are durable. The pad can be rotated when the tips wear. To avoid this let the tool do the work, as too much pressure can damage the hook and loop surface. It almost goes without saying that Festool are expensive; hence four stars.

Nicht ganz günstig, aber schont den viel teureren Schleifschuh der RO90. Da man mit Dreieckschuh primär in Ecken punktförmig belastet, kommt es hier zu einer Abnutzung gerade der Pad-Spitzen. Durch Drehen der Pads hat man davon 3 je Pad, mit den 2 enthaltenen Pads ergo 6 Ecken zum "verheizen". Für mich daher in Punkto Preis-Leistung ok, ist halt wie Schleifpapier letztendlich auch Verbrauchsmaterial (halten aber deutlich länger).
