One of the problems drilling hardware holes is the bit likes to move out of position, ever so slightly, and take the jig with it. With this bit, the tip is a point and center the bit into the jig so this can't happen. Very good investment for drill holes.

This is a high quality drill bit which produces an accurate and clean hole. What makes this bit unique is its design. The Centrotec bit used in a drill with a Centrotec chuck engages the chuck deeply in close tolerance stabilizing the bit preventing wobble which enhances accuracy. Is it more costly than a standard bit? Yes. What accounts for that you might ask. To answer that question I would submit that it is several factors. Engineering and design, quality materials and manufacturing, and quality control. If that is what you expect in a product then cost is the lesser issue. Each consumer must decide which products meet their needs best. This bit meets my needs.

Loved this bit. I've used it for more then 8 houses over 3500+ sq ft and its lasted me over a year but I'm using it for cabinet hardware and on a precision bit guide so it keeps my bit strate when I'm drilling holes.

Use with the TP jig and works great. Hardwood or laminate, it doesn't care. Let the bit do the cutting and don't push hard

I am a cabinet maker and have been using these bits for years, I have never had one break, I just wear them out. A bit last me about a year. I only use it for drilling handle holes.

Very little splintering, easy drilling. Bought this drill bit to use with a jig http://smile.amazon.com/True-Position-TP-1934-Basic-Hardware/dp/B003E46SVO/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_text_y based on the recommendation of other reviewers and am pleased I did. It worked out great. I was able to install about 80 handles in 2 hours.

The functionality of the bit is super yes the quality of the material leaves much to be desired for professional use. In the sense that it cuts perfectly around 100 holes and then it starts to cut a bit hard to remove and blackens. I use for melamine chipboard. All my tools are from Fastools. I'm still buying this bit because it's practical
