Probably fine for 1/4 foil but too wide for anything else. The foil is very loose and sticks to the tool. All edges are too sharp to use as a fid, so not useful for smoothing either, as it will rip the foil.

I have been doing stained glass for 20 years. I am very frustrated with this tool. The foil sticks & twists, it takes me twice as much time or more to foils pieces- I don't recommend it.

Not the size advertised, foil has plenty of space to move around, and because its so much bigger its incredibly hard to center the foil with the glass and thus defeats the purpose of the tool. Plan on returning item.

This is not a good foiler. A waste of money. I have been doing stained glass forever and the cost of the foiler is much higher that back in the day. But this one is worthless!
