Close inspection proves the mat is plastic, though very well-woven, and strong. This has worked great on my deck near saltwater in the Pacific NW. It stands up to high winds [I weight it down with beach rocks, since the winds comes in beneath the glass deck railing], hot sun, rainy days, bird droppings, spilled food & drinks, pine needles, sand, & whatever else lands on it. I can sweep off anything dry, rinse off anything wet, and it looks as good as new. Pure black and white, still unfaded after a couple unseasonably hot months of summer, foot & pet traffic, and outdoor furniture on it. I've received compliments on how great it looks, and it doesn't need constant cleaning - which I was wary of - a white [rug], mat - what was I thinking? Red punch hasn't stained it, neither have the gulls. It arrived folded up like a mat, which I will easily do again this fall, for storage. It has loops on each corner for lawn/ground use with stakes, too. I ordered the largest size, and haven't found anything not to like about it. Perfect for picnics on the grass, or dirt, sandy beaches, decks, patios, or outdoor concerts [though the smaller sizes are more suitable for use in public spaces]. My best purchase for outdoor living. Go for it, unless you prefer cleaning those outdoor rugs more than your indoor ones. So glad I found this!

Received the rug, checked it out on the driveway. Seemed fine. Color was as portrayed in the photo. Went camping for 5 days. Everything worked out ok so far. I love the color/pattern. It is subtle and not obtrusive in the background of nature, if you know what I mean. I go camping to look at trees and such, not wildly colored and patterned rugs that don't fit in with nature. This is why I chose this one. It did well. Would like to see one that is more of a soft olive green to fit in with nature even more. No bold colors or patterns please.

I could have given this rug 5 stars but it came in a bag folded instead of rolled. So it’s got some serious creases in it and I’m not sure they’ll ever work themselves out. Everyone should know to roll a plastic rug, not fold it. It’s pretty though.

Found this on one of the last pages on Amazon (on page 7 of 7) & I’m so glad I didn’t give up when searching for an outdoor mat. The price, size & design were exactly what i was looking for. Use it for camping & it is durable rain or shine. Easy to shake clean & kept the packaging it was shipped in for storage. Would definitely buy again.

Love the color. Put on my deck. Doesn't get hot so you can walk barefoot. Pups can lay on it. Has held up nicely out in the weather.

I bought this to go on my deck under patio furniture, because our deck gets so hot in the summer. I knew it was plastic, so I was hoping it would be more durable than the last rug I had out here - but one month in and some of the white stripes are crumbling and leaving little white shards all over your feet! I would not recommend it for under furniture, it stretches and snags the foot of the chair/stool, etc when you try to move it around. Overall not very happy. Maybe it’s better for occasional use like camping?

Se ve que es de plástico, aún asà no queda mal en el salón, como tengo mascotas y niños elegà una asà para poder lavarla a menudo. Es muy bonita y da un toque bastante moderno al salón, la recomiendo
