My sons Florida Gator couldn’t play the school song loud enough and we discovered the speaker was bad, so when I found the same speaker here I ordered it.. took the old one out and soldered the new one in. It works great!!! He’s had this thing for over 20 years now and it’s just a thing he likes to play during football season with the buddies. Happy momma fixed it.

The Quansheng UVK5 is a great HAM HT, but its biggest shortcoming in my opinion is the very weak stock speaker. This speaker was a great upgrade. I will add one to all my UVK5 radios. You will need some glue or adhesive tape or something to hold it in place.

These seem to be okay for communication radios such as Ham and CB radios they were proper size for my mobile radios. These speakers are rated at 1 watt input so be carefull at what volume you run them at they are plenty loud but are tinny. I normally use a larger external speaker for my radios but these will work if you dont have an external speaker.

Just unpacked the speakers, haven't heard them yet, but the speaker on the left looks fine. The speaker on the right is clearly incorrectly manufactured... The cone has been pulled into the speaker by the magnet. It has completely lost its structure of the vibrating surface. In the second photo, you can see that the profile of the cones are totally different. Looks like it may still vibrate, but gently moving the cone in and out with my finger, I can hear scraping sounds. Not quality.

Don’t waste your time or money on these, get a 2.5†driver from Dayton audio for slightly more, they sound so much better and I switched over to them pretty quick.

I'd be more upset if they arrived in good condition. The size I needed was slightly smaller than these. They have the same torn cone I was trying to replace.
