How to use them
Step 1
Chuck into your drill press a Forstner bit just slightly larger than the figure-eight connector. Every 12"–18", on the edges of the apron end pieces, drill mortises a hair deeper than the connector thickness.
Step 2
Using the spur hole from the Forstner bit as a guide, drill a mounting screw pilot hole. Then trim off the mortise edges with a chisel, as shown.
Step 3
To allow the connector to rotate back and forth about one-eighth of a turn.
Screw the figure 8 connector to the apron just loosely enough to allow it to rotate.
Step 4
Check that the connector sits flush with or a little lower than the apron edge. Repeat these steps to mount the remaining connectors. Do not mount them on the side pieces of the apron.
With the tabletop upside down on your workbench, center the apron/leg assembly on the underside of the tabletop, and mark the mounting screw locations. Drill pilot holes into the tabletop using a depth stop and insert the mounting screws.

These table top fasteners are a game-changer! They're super strong and hold my tables together securely, no more wobbly setups. They're easy to install and the black color blends in nicely. The figure 8s are good, no complaints there. You will need a 20mm forstner bit to recess them into the base. The screws are too short for me to trust them, less than 1/2 inch. My table and base is fairly heavy, so I bought longer screws. You will need #6 flathead screws if you go this route. Overall I’m happy with them, and would buy them again

The fasteners are a nice size and very sturdy. I didn't give 5 stars because I didn't get enough screws to install all of the fasteners.

I purchased these to attach an old school desktop. They worked great, easy to apply, and are very sturdy. The kit comes with the correct size wood screws for easy application.

Very nice product. Machined smooth overall. Supplied screws fit flush in countersunk holes. As others have stated only half the number of screws needed are supplied. I had screws on hand and used them where they weren't seen. Misleading description of contents.
