Choosing the Correct Filter Size
Nominal Size vs. Actual Size
The nominal size is a shorthand number rounded to the nearest whole or half inch, normally in a larger font (ex: 16 x 20 x 1). Whereas the actual size is an exact measurement, normally in a smaller font, that depicts the filter's precise dimensions (ex: 15.50 x 19.50 x 0.75). All filters have both.
Measuring Your Air Filter
If your current air filter does not have a dimension listed on the frame, use a tape measure to record the width x length x depth to find the actual size. Then round these measurements up to the nearest inch to find a corresponding nominal size, which will be easier to locate when searching online.

I typically purchase name brand air filters but decided to give these Filterbuy ones a try. They were true to the size I needed (14×24×1). They are sturdy in design and the filter material is unscented.So far, they seem to filter well. I have not had any issues using these with my central heater. I was extremely impressed by this seller. I am the one that messed up my measurements for the filters. Filled out a request to return them to get the correct ones . . . They replied within hours and my replacement filters were sent.I asked how to send the filters recieved and their response blew me away. "Please feel free to donate them to someone in need"I will continue to buy from them. The product is top tier and a huge improvement from the cheap filters put in my home before I bought it.We live in the middle of a desert. The sand is insane to say the least.
