Choosing the Correct Filter Size
Nominal Size vs. Actual Size
The nominal size is a shorthand number rounded to the nearest whole or half inch, normally in a larger font (ex: 16 x 20 x 1). Whereas the actual size is an exact measurement, normally in a smaller font, that depicts the filter's precise dimensions (ex: 15.50 x 19.50 x 0.75). All filters have both.
Measuring Your Air Filter
If your current air filter does not have a dimension listed on the frame, use a tape measure to record the width x length x depth to find the actual size. Then round these measurements up to the nearest inch to find a corresponding nominal size, which will be easier to locate when searching online.

When my unit was under warranty we would just buy a filter from the company servicing our HVAC. The price they were charging for filters was insane once I realized I could buy a year’s worth of filters from filterbuy for the same price as one filter from the HVAC service company. We’ve been using filterbuy ever since. I love that it’s made in the USA and the quality for price really is unbeatable. We have a 2,100 square foot two story house with a Lennox system and we have four kids, two dogs, six guinea pigs and two rabbits living in the house so it’s important that we have a good quality filter to keep our HVAC running a good long time. Filters fit snug as a good filter should. I highly recommend these filters.

These are good filters to get although, they could be even better. I noticed the foam strip on top of the old filter and the lack of one on top of these (2-pack) filters. This filter was loose in my furnace and so I taped the foam strip from the old filter to this new filter and it fit better. Considering that this is supposed to be a MERV-11 filter - the loose fit is only worth 4 stars. The loose fit was only at the top, not at the sides.

This filter is a great choice for improving indoor air quality. I’ve been using these for my HVAC system, and they fit perfectly.
