I am not a machinist. I play around at home with lathe and cheap mill. I bought this to bore a hole in a pitman arm at 2.100". It worked great and left an accurate and uniform hole. I'm sure there is much better out there, but I'm not making airplane parts either. The cutters did need sharpening and aren't the best, but they work. The head itself is surprisingly well made for the price. Seemed to pretty accurate to the .001". Again, I don't doubt a professional would think otherwise, but I'm sure their parts also cost much more than this thing. I would buy it again and it has made it's money back already!

For the price it’s great, my only complaint is that I had to sharpen the boring bar carbide. I have used it about 5 times with no issues. Great boring head for the money.

The head was just the size I needed, the accuracy of the dial is dead on. And the boring bars were/are sharp. For my money it was a great buy.

The price was right. The gib screws were cranked down super tight but after loosening they seem to work fine. I pulled it apart and while it was not excessive, there was some grinding dust in there. I cleaned it all up, lubed the ways, and it seems to operate smoothly. I can't speak to the boring bars - yet - and will update this review if they are less than what can be expected at this price point. My expectations are not super high.

This is the yellow box boring unit seen on the internet. The boring head itself is quite good, well made, packaged and finished. The included cutters were made by someone who does not know what they are making. The carbide brazed inserts were way too thick and poorly fitted to the base tool. The steel base is machined wrong to make matters worse. This makes the cutter rub on the material being cut rather cutting into it, causing heat rather than a cut, and a mess of the part made so far. I suspect these cutters are everywhere on the net making trusting buying any in doubt. Most of these type tools are contracted, so even if I get a good set, that could change in an instant depending on who got the contract. You might get it to work if you have a green wheel grinder and grind away MOST of the carbide. Good luck

Las barras que vienen incluidas no son de la mejor calidad, de ahà en fuera el producto funciona súper bien

Used to bore one hole so far. Quality seems fine. It worked well. Finish was a little rough. Will spend some time on tool bits to improve finish.
