This item tore through the padded envelope during shipping. All I received was the padded envelope. I contacted the company and they immediately shipped another. This item is excellent quality and perfect for turning wood to make ink pens. I highly recommend this product.

Mandrel is bent. Turned two different pens thinking I mess up on the first one. Second one is out of round as well.

The mandrel is straight and true. Works great. The mandrel saver is worthless for me. The wide end of the Morse taper is too skinny and the back of the head is forced up against the MT 2 receiver on the tailstock so it won't spin. Fortunately I have an older mandrel saver with a wide enough taper so the mandrel works fine with that.Not sure what I will use the mandrel saver for. Maybe a nice paper weight.

I liked this very much for pen turning as I could use it with single tube pens.

The mandrel saver is a great option since it leaves minimal shaft exposed and therefore reduces flex while turning. Very happy with the tolerances and overall performance.
