This is creative how they use the handle as a fire starter. Rope has more purposes than just rope. I like it for my go bag

I got these for my son’s upcoming camping trip, and he loves them- they make great sparks.

Me, my son and some of my grandchildren are outdoors enthusiasts, I'm a firm believer that every day pack, back pack, fanny pack should have at least 3 ways to start a fire and these certainly fit the bill. Small, light weight and effective.

Good emergency ferro rod. With its small size, it can easily be carried in a pocket. The trade off for compact size is that it's not the easiest rod to use effectively. However, it is certainly capable of getting a fire going. Don't bother with the included striker. The back of a good knife is much better. Users who are accustomed to pulling the rod while striking will find that the wooden handle quickly comes off. A drilled hole would have been better. All in all, a serviceable fire starter for a minimalist kit. If you're carrying a full pack you'll want to include a full size alternative.

I have never had a flit starter before, but wanted one to put in my backpack for offroad trips.I dont know a ton about these, but I was impressed. It was pretty easy to get the hang of it and I got a fire started within a mintue or two.The set comes with the flint and a striker and is attached with a cord that can be taken apart and used for many things. It all seems to be good quality and will hold up for several uses. The set is small enough to fit almost anywhere and pull out when you need it.
