We got these to cover our deck railings from our grill and Blackstone. They have worked great. Easy to install with a couple screws.

I have both a pellet grill and a flat griddle - both of which can put out some heat, and constant heat for extended periods of time. I have used this consistently for a few months now, and it has allowed me to keep minimal separation distances rather than the 3-4' I would typically do. There has been no damage to my paint or deck - pleased with this and would recommend.

I got this to test on my Trex white PVC railing which is behind my propane grill. The back of the grill gets very hot when it is one, so I wanted to avoid any damage to the railing from the heat. This material feels thin and I didn't think it would work, but so far I used it with the grill pulled away from the railing about 3 feet, and while this shield was warm to even a little hot, the railing underneath was not hot at all (maybe slightly warm, but that could also be from sitting under the shield in the summer).Overall, I was skeptical, but it appears to be working great and I would recommend it for that reason.

This fire resistant heat shield has many uses, as detailed in the product description, but I bought it primarily to use as a radiant heat barrier behind my gas grill and Blackstone griddle. My cooking devices are fairly close to a wooden railing, and although I'm not concerned about the railing catching fire, I am concerned about long term damage from radiant heat. This heat shield does a very good job at preventing that. The product is well-made, is easily cleaned, and should hold up very well to heat and weather. It can be folded to a small size for extended storage. It's fire resistant on both sides, with a glass fiber core, so it resists high heat very well, but doesn't provide much insulation against conducted heat. In other words, it will not provide much protection against hot objects directly in contact with it, but it will provide good protection against heat radiating from grills and griddles through the air to other objects such as deck rails or walls. It will also stand up to direct flame and protect covered objects from flame damage.

The Amerbro Fireproof Heat Shield for Wall Behind Grill does a good job of protecting the area behind a BBQ grill from intense heat. I have a screened in patio and keeping the grill a safe distance from the screen material can be a challenge. This shield will allow me to move the grill closer to the screen, freeing up important patio space.Because of the screen wall, I was not able to use any of the 14 included zip-ties for installation. I used some peel/stick hooks attached to the frame for hanging the shield. I am now able to have the grill 10-12†away from the screen, instead of the 3 feet I have been doing.I am, however, disappointed that this came without ANY documentation of any kind. The shield was folded neatly with the zip-ties slid inside and tightly sealed in a plastic bag. Nothing else was included. The only information about proper use has to come from the product description on the Amazon page. This lack of documentation has dropped this to only a 4 STAR rating. Even with that, I recommend this item.
