I live in a very remote area and have a full basement so two thirds of my house are about 10 ft up of the ground. We needed something sturdy, simple, and reliable to use in case of a fire. This is it. It is super easy to use, really sturdy, light enough for my 13 yr old niece to install, and long enough to get out of the second story window ( which is about 15 ft of the ground). I feel much safer having this in my house.

Although it is a fine, well-made product, I really don't want to ever have to use it. May it gather dust and be passed down to my children's children.

Exactly as described and easy to use. We have storm windows and I was able to affix a 2 by 4 in the well between the sill and the metal storm to allow the ladder rails to rest level on the window.

I bought 2 of the window ladders in case of a house fire. I want everyone to be able to exit the house in seconds and this is the best product I could find.

For a Luddite like me, taking the ladder apart, testing it by hanging out the window and putting it back together again was a bit of a challenge. One needs to do that if one wants to become proficient and dangling it out the second story window. I’m thinking of getting a few more for other bedrooms in the house. It is sturdily made. The instructions say that you should only hang it out of a window on the second floor if there is no window directly underneath on the first floor that is a bit of a problem since all my windows on the second floor have a window below. So I’ll have to figure something out for that. . I didn’t climb out the window and use it. also, I have to cut down a small tree that was in the way of the ladder, but that was no big deal.

very difficult to review these as they are something you buy and hope never to use. However, I have done extensive research on the internet, and these are widely seen as one of the best available.

Compact for easy storage and to be close at hand when needed. Simple to operate - the hook designs anticipate a variety of balcony configurations - including a slightly strange one we have - a brick wall that was increased in height by the addition of a railing - this product is able to be fitted between the railing and the brick due to the flexible link between the hooks - if this link was more rigid it wouldn't work so well for us. The simple velcro release to deploy the ladder looks like it will work well.CONS: instructions warn about deploying because repacking is tricky - therefore, we can't get a really good look at how it will work until we actually use it.

Quality product. Arrived quickly and is as advertised. Nicely compact to fit in a closet or under a bed. Hooks at the top are large enough to fit the wide window sills of my brick 2 storey home. A must have for an escape plan from the second story

Bought this for my daughter they have three kids and live in a two story house I hope they never have to use this but if the worst happed at least they would be able to get out
