Dealer wanted $1200 to replace the compressor (bad clutch coil) on my 2003 Accord. Anyone who does occasional maintenance can replace a compressor, but most don't own the necessary vacuum pump. What a wonderful thing the internet is! Paid $262 for the compressor, $90 for this pump, $20 for R-134a and Voila... this pump saved me $828. I already had a gauge manifold, but if I hadn't, I could have got one for $60 or so. Within 10 minutes I was seeing 28 inches on the compound low-side gauge. I let it pump for an additional 2 hours, getting what appeared to be 29", then charged the system. This pump doesn't have to do much, and did what I needed it to do wonderfully. It comes with the needed bottle of pump oil that must be poured in before turning the pump on. I've retired from working on cars professionally so I can't attest to its durability over many uses, but it does seem to me to be a substantially built piece of equipment. Matter of fact, if it only worked for ONE car but saved me $828 it is worth the reasonable price.

Bought this one because I was trying to save money. Was concerned that the smaller CFM wouldn't pull the right amount of vacuum on my F250 truck. To my surprise it pulled the same vacuum as the pro pump that my friend uses. 27 to be exact.The pump is very quiet, clearly exhausted all of the moisture from my system, and came with pump oil. It does come with plastic caps for the brass connector on top just in case you wondered about that. One of mine was broken but no biggie. I don't know if this pump would be the choice for professionals but for my limited use it works great and doing my own A/C work saved me over $500 and still paid for the equipment.

Nice pump for the money. Pump ran smooth, quiet and did it's job. You will see some complaints about oil residue on the pump, they are tested at the factory and drained but some remains in the pump. Mine had very little around the fill port and brass fitting both caps was loose. I would find this to be normal as the box is tossed around in shipping, just wipe it off fill it up with supplied oil and get the job done.... Now for the performance, I live in Hawaii and my home is about 10 feet above sea level I could pull 28.0"- 28.5 +" hg. I ran the pump for one hour, 29.921" Hg is (absolute vacuum) so this pump is not that far off from absolute. Keep in mind atmospheric pressure and altitude affects vacuum pump performance. The FJC 6905 Vacuum Pump pulls down 10 inches of Mercury vacuum quickly as a one stage pump. Then, it gradually slows down its rate of vacuum. Vacuum achieved 28 in. Hg. according to the gage. The finish is solid construction, not junk and its not really too noisy in use. I bought it to do composites work as a newbie. From what I read online, a vacuum tank should be added for non-oil vacuum gages measuring output.According to the manual, if you use it a lot the oil must be changed often, say from 10 to 40 hours continuous use. No issues so far and it starts up instantly.

Were I looking to get into fixing my own vehicles, ie shade tree mechanic, this pump is well worth the cost. I do not know how it will hold up to a commercial type use, but for me it works wonderfully. The delivery was prompt, the packing well done. The instructions that come with the pump are brief, but complete, at least for anyone with a modicum of understanding.I would buy this for a friend, relative, or anyone looking to make their first foray into fixing their own A/C.

arrived a little earlier than estimated which was a nice surprised. out of the box the plastic sheath up top under the handle was cracked. if youre anything like me this wont bother you for more than a minute really. havent had a chance to perform a full job with it yet however i loaded it up with oil, turned it on and everything seemed to work fine.

This miniature is amazing.I have been a technician for about 20 years and I had used a lot of vacuum pumps.I received it yesterday,fill the oil and test it.In less than five minutes it reached 29 mmhg.I don't know how it works for other people but for me is an steal for the price.It worked great for an hour without hesitation.This thing never went overheated or spill oil, just it worked perfectly.I recommend it.

DeberÃan de tener más cuidado al momento de empacar la bomba de vacÃo y tener señalamiento de estar parada porque venÃa acostada y tiro todo el aceite que traÃa,se mira en la bolsa que venÃa empacada.

Use it once and it does the job. No oil in the pump but it is in a separate container. Good to have and useful even for fixing car aircon.
