It looks the same as the plastic ones. However, the plastic ones kept breaking when there would be a good wind storm. This one has held up and is going strong.

I was surprised at the quality of this flag holder. It is as described in the product description. It is well formed and the white finish is crisp and clean. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that the provided installation screws are weak. The phillips head screw will strip out against resistance and it is then difficult to unscrew since the slots are gone. Buy this holder then get some screws of better quality for your installation.
