THESE GUIDES ARE NECESSARY WHEN USING HIGH RATIO ROCKER ARMS, AS I AM. CHECK THE FIT CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING, YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE SOME CASTING TO GAIN CLEARANCE. WHEN USING HIGH RATIO ROCKERS, THE PUSH ROD HOLES IN THE HEAD MAY NEED TO BE ELONGATED TO PREVENT PUSH ROD BINDING AT FULL CAM LIFT. THE STUDS AND HOLES SHOULD BE CLEAN AND OIL FREE, USE A DROP OF LOCKTITE ON THE THREADS.AS THERE IS A LITTLE CLEARANCE BUILT INTO THE STUD HOLES, USE A SCREWDRIVER OR SOME OTHER DEVICE TO HOLD THE PLATE AGAINST THE STUD WHILE TORQUING.

had to to some trimming to make them work on the 291 AMC head. not a big deal to deal with. other than that thay will do the job well. parts are hard to get for any engine ... but try building a AMC.... lol

These hit machining bosses in AMC 360-401 (and prob most other AMC blocks) heads in the middle valves, the two ends have a web cast into the head that these hit (see pics), so exactly NONE will sit flush or be bolted down. A few minutes at a grinder will "fix" them so they'll work, but..., I bought to bolt on, not to fabricate...
