DuraWater IRON EATER Air Injection Iron Filter
The DuraWater iron eater air injection oxidizing system, as a single tank system, is an efficient and cost effective system for the removal of iron and sulphur. The iron eater maintains an air pocket in the top of the tank while the system is in service. As the water passes thru the air pocket, iron and sulphur are oxidized.
Fleck 5600SXT Digital Control Valve
The DuraWater Iron Eater system comes equipped with a Fleck 5600SXT air injection control head that automatically back washes the system daily to clean the media and flush everything down the drain. By utilizing a patented piston in the control valve, the Iron Eater is able to put the whole oxidation process inside one tank, keeping maintenance costs and down time to a minimum.

I had this unit for two weeks and it has worked as described. I took about a week for the hot water to clear up but since then no iron or sulfates. Good suds in the tub and sinks.

I bought this carbon filter setup with a healthy dose of scepticism, knowing that our water is about half iron. Well, maybe not half, but enough to stain our sinks and toilets in a few days if untreated, and it is distinctly orange out of the tap, even after going through 2 filters, a 5 micron and a 1 micron.I installed the system and let it soak with water for 24 hours as directed in the installation manual.I also drained my water heater and flushed it a few times.After the 24 hours and the tank had been flushed as per the directions I opened the bypass valves and the change was immediate, at least for the cold water. No sulfur smell and no orange color.The hot water looked very murky so I drained the tank again and flushed it twice, and then the hot water was perfect like the cold.Supposedly the carbon will last 5 years, and that is great. I do wish the company would include directions on how to empty the tank, how much carbon to put in it, what kind of carbon (I have found out what typy, and how to suspend the 1" pipe in the tank.I'll contact the company and get that squared away long before I need to replace the carbon.No more schlepping salt and dumping it in a softner and no more worrying about what water faucet to use when watering the gardt.Highly recommend!

This device is what I needed all along and it's working well. It was not to difficult to install.I recommend you consider it for rusty, sulfur or iron water that's hard to fix. I do have a few concerns.The plastic parts don't seem very sturdy so I'm worried about longevity. The menu is not very user friendly. And the cycle time seems to drain out a lot of water that seems excessive. I might try to tweak that time but again the menu is strange. It's an affordable oxidizer. I would probably buy again but wish it was a little higher quality to give some long term confidence.

In ‘my’ situation, it was a very easy install.I used the push on gator bites. Some real plumbers don’t trust them.I have well water with bad smell. After shocking well and filter use, smell comes back after a month or so. I had an iron filter at a different house and it was an amazing fix for the heavy iron. This house was mostly a rotten egg smell.Not too much iron staining (Iron oxide, sulfur, iron bacteria?). This product fixed the smell.The company did say it would remove the iron and the smell, but not actually the bacteria ( harmless?) I use RO for drinking water.Overall I’m at very satisfied for ease of use and for what it does for it does.

Had a water softener and pre-filter 5micron , continuous maintenance , hassle with bags of salt in a very small area .Softener valve locked up and broke , never really solved iron problem , searched for alternatives for iron only problems without adding salt to water ( not needed, not hard water ). came across the 5600sxt air injection with natural catalyst that removes iron in suspension and also removes magnesium and some pesticides / chemicals through capture and backwash. Worth a shot because it can also be used with a salt reservoir if it was needed later , but it is not needed.Installed after pre-filter , added another clear body 20" post filter to be able to monitor condition of non dissolved solids . Performed initial setup as per instructions and after 24 hr set in first cycle then opened into system , instant success .NOTE: Installation , some plumbing knowledge is definitely needed.Water taste great , no discoloration at all and suprisingley not as loud as the softener used to be .The softener always left an oily film and strange flavor to the water , it tested fine but was not great .This new set up is much better than it ever was !

Bought it in october 2021, zero problems so far. No sulfur smell. However, now , we are getting a slight smell. Probably the media needs cleaning ? I will contact the support team to find out.

We have 7ppm iron. It took a ton of salt in our softener to take out the iron and then we'd have to keep up on cleaning the softener so it didn't get too fouled with the iron. This works great! We tried just running the air injection system for a while and it literally took all the orange out, but our water is so hard it was leaving too much scale. We're now using a quarter of the salt we used to use. I'm a believer! We set it to backwash every day as recommended and working great almost 2 years now!

Had a softener with a carbon filter, so much iron in the water still I had to clean the tub and toilet nearly dailyI plumbed this filter before the softener and now my water is crystal clear! Been a month and zero trace of iron. I even took out my carbon filter as this filter took out the smell as well

system works great. easy to install and got immediate results. we now have clean toilet tanks and bowls compared to twice weekly cleaning without the filter.I had a question about the control head programming and the seller contacted me immediately with instructions on how to set it up for air injection filtration.

So thankful for this product! It works great! We have high iron content water coming from our well and it was impossible to keep our tub and toilet clean! Bathing is now a pleasure with clear water! I scrubbed thr stains and they have not returned after 1 month of use! Safe for our septic and no salt to add.

Works great! Bought the 3M aquapure filter to get rid of the sulphur smell in our well water. The Aquapure worked for about three days then stunk again. Bought this (without the brine tank) and it works great! I've now had it installed for about 6 months and it's still working perfectly!! Much cheaper then what Culligan was trying to sell me. Worth the money.

Used this unit for a rental property with a major iron problem. Tested at 10 ppm. Water would turn orange over night in toilet bowls. Easy to install and works great. No more iron problem at a much lower cost than other water shops could provide. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the instructions provided are poor. Read other reviews and watched the video and no issues. Thought the unit was initially showing me an error code, but turned out this wasn't the case (actually was showing me number of days before next recharge). Company was very friendly and resolved issue. My only suggestion is to update your documentation, even if it is just the link to the installation video as this would be an improvement. I would buy again.
