This is amazing as a packable, back-up, “we live in a tiny apartment†or “it rarely snows here†sled. Is it the best sled out there? No. But it is very cheap, super light and takes up the same amount of room as a roll of wrapping paper. We can easily roll it up and put it in the backpack’s water bottle pocket on a hike or cross-country skiing, in case we run into a sledding hill.We have used it on snowy hills for two winters and it is still holding up. The handles show a little wear but haven’t torn.It is small, but adults can use it if they keep their legs out. In fact, we often fit a 6 feet, 220 lb adult with a 4’, 60 lb kid and it works fine. Our 5yo learned how to use it alone in just a couple of tries, and our tall 7yo still fits with legs crossed. It does require slightly more inclination than plastic sleds, and works best on snow that isn’t too deep and fluffy. It doesn’t steer much, but enough to avoid big obstacles and stay on a slope the with of a sidewalk.Perfect for what it is.

Awesome find for the price! We bought 2 and put them to really good use. Yes, they are small, but so functional! They are slippery and did not tear. As grown ups, we put the toes of our boots in the hand holds and flew down the mountain! The kids enjoyed trying out many different ways to use them. The are small, light, and so much easier to pack in our car than traditional sleds/saucers. Definitely a win!

Works well, but it is quite narrow, so don't recommend for adult use.

we were going on vacation and could not acquire enough of the sand sledding disc I wanted to accommodate everyone so, I purchased 2 of these so everyone could slide. these maybe good for a small child but not for older teens or adults. did not work well in the sand at all. hard to sit and pull up on the grips at the same time and then try to lean back so you can actually slide down the hill. price was good but the product was not practical for our use. we will hold onto and see if the work any better on snow

We finally got to try these out after 2 feet of snow melted enough to make a good solid sledding hill. My kids LOVED them. They’re super slippery so it takes some help for little ones to get on but man do they go once you’re heading down hill! They’re small but the perfect size for our kids to lay on their bellies (they’re a tall 5 year old and an average height 4 year old). My husband and I even tried them out and we are not petite people. I’m 5’8†and he’s 6’7†and we were both able to get most of our bellies on and slide down the hill to the delight of our kids. I am SO happy I bought these!

Fast fun in the snow. Streamlined lightweight linear polyethylene is rugged enough to take winter action. This is the lightest, most compact, and affordable carpet sled that I could find on the web. This sled is perfect for carrying along for mountain hiking where you want to keep your baggage as light as possible. I took it for hiking in Colorado Rockies, and it worked perfectly fine at 14000 ft. This sled can be rolled up and easily attached to the side of the backpacks and it does not add much weight. The length of the sled is just enough to accommodate myself and my backpack when I kept my legs out, which I needed to do anyway to control the speed. This sled is very fast, made the descent fun and quick. I recommend this to any mountain hikers who expect snow or glaciers on their descending routes.

The description on Amazon is misleading. We bought these thinking we could use them as adults. However, on the label that holds the product in the rolled position for shipping it states: "Max Riders: 1 Max Weight: 100 pounds. And it also says it is best to wear a helmet and protective gloves when using the product. I unrolled one and found it too narrow for my adult rump to sit on comfortably. The description of the product should make it clear that this is intended for children only. We did not try them, but it does look like it would slide well on snow.

The two slides create a perfeclyt smooth surface for the quilt to glide over when free-motion quilting.
