I actually bought it with the intent to use it as the in game time clock for a table tip role playing game where I was able to advance it manually. Brought it home, popped in a battery, and it's a pretty compelling clock, and surprisingly quite.

The clock looks just as it does on the listing and is of reasonable quality given the price. What lets it down is how difficult it is to set it. I have a lot of clocks dotted around my room and having them all keep time accurately is a little bit of an obsession.Figuring out how to get this clock to change from one minute to the next at the correct time took a lot of attempts as well as a piece or paper, pencil and some hardcore mathematics!Since I got it sync'd to actual time it's performed reasonably well, the only strange thing is that some 'minutes' are as short as 52 seconds and some are as long as 67 seconds, overall though it keeps time well and this 'quirk' actually adds to the overall character of this analog tech.

We absolutely love this clock! The flipping numbers are so fun, and it’s wonderfully quiet. So far, it’s been keeping perfect time, which is great. The best part for us has to be the large, easy-to-read numbers—they're fantastic! The only thing to consider is the price; it’s definitely an investment, but we think it’s totally worth it. This clock is a solid five-star in our book!

It took a little time to get here, but wow, it's absolutely gorgeous! It has so much more character than a digital clock, and it really brightens up the living room—or wherever you decide to put it. So far, it's been spot on with the time, and I have a hunch that the D-cell battery will last a really long time. Speaking of batteries, I don’t usually buy D-cells, but I love that it doesn’t have a cord sticking out. That would have taken away from its charm. I highly recommend it if this size and color match your decor!

Since when did the things I grew up with become 'vintage' and 'retro'? If you weren't around back then, there's something you should know about flip clocks—they make a little noise! Every minute, you'll hear a soft click as time ticks away, and every hour, you'll get to enjoy the sound of those numbers flipping over. If that bothers you, no worries—just grab a different clock! It's not too loud; honestly, I often don’t even notice it. But I wouldn’t recommend it for a bedroom if someone has trouble sleeping. On the bright side, in an office setting, those clicks can be a nice reminder that you’re one minute closer to retirement! I really love the retro design of those old flip clocks. And once you pop in a D-cell battery (talk about retro—who even uses those anymore, especially carbon zinc instead of alkaline batteries like the instructions say?), the clock has a nice weight to it!
