Flowmaster Federal universal catalytic converters are designed to meet federal EPA emissions requirements on a wide variety of applications. These high quality catalytic converters are manufactured in the USA, and feature stainless steel outer shell construction for maximum durability. The internal substrate material and precious metal loading have been carefully engineered for maximum efficiency and to avoid MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) code issues that are common with lower quality converters. Universal catalytic converters require welding and/or fabrication and should be installed by qualified technicians. Please refer to the Flowmaster application guide for specific part number/vehicle applications. Flowmaster Federal converters are not legal for sale or use on vehicles licensed or operated in the state of California.

Product does as it should. Fits perfect under my G8. You will get a faint gas smell, but it's high flow and should be expected. It does the job and no engine light. As for longevity, we will see. It's been only 2 weeks since I put them on so I'll update if anything ridiculous happens. So, far. Great stuff.

Good cats, they quieted my exhaust a little which is good or bad depending on what you are going for. I put these on to pass the emission standards of "having cats". Its funny that they don't care how well they work just as long as you have them. The piping on this cat is 2.5" ID, so if you have an exhaust that is 2.5" piping, chances are that it is measure in OD and they will slip right over. I didn't realize this, bought a set of 2.5" clamps, and cut a section of my exhaust out the same size as the cats, only to find that that it would have slipped right over which ruined my plans. I had to cut the flat sections off of the cats and weld 2.5" OD pipes into the cats to be able to clamp them in to my exhaust. Long story short, if you are permanently adding these to exhaust by welding them in to a 2.5" OD system, these will work perfect without clamps. If you plan to be able to remove them, (after your emissions test, or once they go bad) be aware, clamps will not work unless you size them correctly. Also, I still smell exhaust fumes, but it is greatly reduced. It doesn't smell like rainbows and sunshine like the ecology hippies want you to believe if you have them, more like american muscle with deodorant.

I installed a cat-less header on my 2005 MINI R50 to try and squeeze a bit more power out of its tiny motor. Besides being way too loud and bad for the environment, the cat-less setup scrubbed a bit of torque and exhaust fumes entered the cabin after hard accelerations. (After just 20 minutes of driving, my ears would hurt and I'd have a headache!) This Flowmaster cat is smaller and flows better than the OEM BMW cat. After having this welded in by a professional shop, the car sounds great; it is still significantly louder than stock without being obnoxious, I've regained the lost torque, and there's no more toxic fumes or harmful emissions. And, my wife will ride in the car with me again!

I bought this to replace a cat in my Subaru, the first thing that was noticeable was poor welding quality of the metal which wasnt a huge deal it was just a small annoyance. The cat worked fine from the install (Feb 2016) until i started noticing more and more exhaust smell going back for about 2 months, then 2 weeks ago the core started rattling around and now has completely broken out leaving the car catless again. I cant complain a whole lot considering this is under $100, but the car passed inspection so theres that.

I had purchased this to replace my stock catalytic converter. It did successfully get me through emissions, however only two days after install, the honeycomb inside shattered. The honeycomb did not look burnt or at all worn, it had only failed to adhere to the inner walls. This resulted in the honeycomb clogging my exhaust system, forcing exhaust out of my header. This then blew my head gasket. All within moments, maybe a span of 10 minutes during my route home.I am now without a car due to this defective part.

Installed a brand new crate 6.4 Hemi in my 1969 Coronet. Assumed the fuel injection would run cleaner than the stock carburetor 440 , but the new motor failed Arizona emissions testing. So after some searching, bought these flowmasters and had a muffler shop weld them on. The car passed the test with flying colors (see pic). Significant smog improvements. Car still runs great, and don't have that exhaust smell/fumes anymore. So more enjoyable to cruise with the windows down. Great add-on. Do the converters reduce the power by 1-2 Horsepower...Maybe. But if I was honestly that concerned about a loss of a few horsepower , I'd probably try losing 10lbs, maybe pull out the back seat, pull out the carpet, etc. To me, it's a no-brainer to reduce the fumes/smog.

Works great on my 2006 Mazda 3i. Now I have a crazy high-flow exhaust system and still regulate my emissions. Doesn't come with an o2 sensor, but my car doesn't have one in the cat (check your car first). Lightweight, strong, and tough. I recommend this for anyone who wants to get a bit more flow out of their engine and meet the majority of regulations. Improves the sound tremendously

I first installed two of these on my 2000 Chevy Silverado LS which has true dual exhaust. A nice sound and power increase. I also installed one on my 2017 Kia SXL as well as a performance resonator and mufflers and car is quiet with no drone noise inside the car but nice mellow sound outside. Noticeable power increase on the Kia also.

Had this installed on our 03 Dodge Durango paired with a Dynomax race muffler and sounds mean! Great quality as expected from flowmaster, no shipping damage.

After 1 year exactly the catalytic converter is rattling. This was installed on my Ford Fiesta with a custom 2.5" exhaust and is the only component to fail. Not running lean or running any hotter than usual to cause it to fail. Stay away from this junk.

Perfect fit, super small and perfectly slides over a 2.5” pipe. No expanding needed.

Great cats, very small profile. My Mustang is lowered and these fit without any ground clearance issues. I had removed the original cats and installed an x-pipe that had no cats. I ended up buying these to remove that burning fuel smell which normally burns your eyes.Update, after awhile my check engine light came on for Cat efficiency codes on both banks. I took 1 star away for this reason.
