What can I say. Fluke is the industry standard of test equipment and meters like this Fluke 116. I've been an engineer for Radio and TV stations for 44 years, and Fluke is the goto meter of choice. I have them at each of our studio locations, and at all of our tower sites. When I needed a new meter for home, the only choice was which one to get. There are different meters for different uses. The 116 has auto scaling, even an auto-volt LoZ selection to really make measuring easy. It's a true RMS meter so you will get accuracy with it. It has a back-lit display. It measures AC and DC voltages, Frequency, tests diodes and capacitors, has an ohm measurement setting, and a continuity beeper. I like this model because it has a temperature sensor and metering. The temperature is extremely fast acting. I took it from room temperature to my freezer, and it settled into the freezer temp in under a minute. This meter does not have the higher current metering capability like some do, nor does it have the volt alert that the next model up has (this is a function where you can hold the meter by wires, and it will alert you if there's voltage in them). I already had a separate Fluke current meter and a smaller voltage alert that can get into panels easier, so I didn't need these functions. I know these cost a little more, and if you use a meter once or twice a year for just minimal things like switch continuity, or the occasional voltage measurement, then there are cheap alternatives.. key word there is cheap though. If you want accuracy though, and want to trust that it will last for years, I recommend the Fluke meters. Costs more but is worth it. Five stars.

The quality and reliability I expected were there. Fluke did not disappoint with the F116. Worked correctly with the i400e AC accessory clamp. Easy to use, convenient back light button. Its temperature reading was quite good, too, compared with other thermometers. See the 3rd photo: 31.3, 31.4, 31.7. For household and general use this is ok by me. Test leads were not very flexible though. This unit was made in Malaysia.

I had roughly 6 DVOM’s one which I used to test a 240v circuit, I knew it was a live circut, but the one I was using showed the circuit was dead. Well that’s the exact moment I decided I was buying a fluke. This meter hasn’t steered me wrong yet and I don’t expect it to, worth every cent don’t hesitate it’s quality unmatched, accuracy is huge asset, smaller than most flukes I’ve used; but bigger than the pocket size, easy to see dial has a backlight for display, and this model was quite affordable and easy to use overall

Fluke meters are the gold standard in many industries. Expensive but worth the money if you are using daily.

Absolutely right decision pay for fluke 116!I use fluke 117 2 years and pay for this model around 300 bucks, but you have only additional mode like alert voltage…. This model cheaper…. But absolutely same.Different only mode for the temperature

Rarely use this one, I mainly use my Amp clap. But works great when I need it

Needed to measure capacitance for start run capacitors. Works great also good low ohm readings
