Good quality flux wire. Easy to use and holds a good weld as long as you know what you are doing.

Higher Quality like you buy at the Welding StoreI can comment with some experience and knowledge. I took welding classes in High School and in College in the 70s. I am NOT a professional welder but I do a lot of metal fabrication. I have gas and electric welding systems. I have a couple of Oxygen Acetylene welding setups, an AC-DC 220 VAC stick welder, and a very old combination convertible MIG or Flux Cored Wire welder. To convert my wire welder to use Flux Cored wire, I have to change the polarity and install knurled wire driving wheels. This rated E71T-GS, at 0.035â€, is my go wire for the thicker metal gas-less flux cored wire welding. Using it to get good welds requires very good surface preparation compared to say using a 6011 stick and welding right through greasy paint on rusted metal. FCAW welding can produce superior weld beads and joints, that look like an artist caulked the joints, but only on perfectly cleaned and prepared metal. You can buy cheaper cost wire but you get cheaper quality wire and inconsistent welds that you have to spend more time correcting and redoing. Life is too short to waste it fixing and re-fixing your poor quality welds caused by using poorer quality wire.Unfortunately, my garage workshop is unheated until deep winter when I spend a lot of time running the wood stove. So, my work space has what is know as “a condensing atmosphereâ€. Inside my workshop water vapor condenses as dew on my equipment; just like it you see on your car parked outside. The dew inside my workshop is not as heavy as the dew outside, but it is still a problem. This brand of Flux Core Wire comes as securely sealed away from the elements as these spools are sealed in a metalized plastic VACUUM BAG. So, I can keep it stored in my workshop without worrying about it deteriorating from the high humidity condensing atmosphere of my workshop.

Used 035 and 040 gasless worked better.

I tested this on my Titanium Flux 125 inverter welder from Harbor Freight, which is a good basic 120V welder. I ran out of the yes welder wire I had in it about half-way through a project I was working on, so I loaded the bestarc spool along with a new contact tip. Since it was a mid-project switch and the same .035 sized wire, I think it was a good comparison. The wire was vacuum packaged in a foil wrap inside the box, which seems to be standard with the brands I’ve tried. I found the bestarc wire to work ok and feed fine, but there was a lot more spatter around the welds and it seems to have a lot more slag and more brown/black soot around the welds, and it produced more smoke while welding. I also noticed little rings of flux or soot occasionally sliding down the wire stick-out into the weld, which is something I haven’t seen with other wires. I also had to spend quite a bit more time with a wire wheel to clean up these welds after they cooled. I’m far from an expert welder, and obviously flux-core welding is going to have some spatter and slag, but this was more than I’m used to.
