Made from durable foam, the Foam-a-lin(TM) G2 is excellent for teaching position, posture and bow movement to the pre-twinkle violin student. It has an attached foam chinrest and shoulder rest and comes with a wooden dowel "bow" that has a simulated frog. An excellent alternative to the "box violin" which only comes in one size. Idea for Teachers: A selection of Foam-a-lins in your studio makes sizing students much easier! Colors may vary. This is the one-and-only original "Foam-a-lin"(TM) - anything else is just a copy!

We ordered this violin to replace the traditional box violin that Suzuki teachers usually employ to teach hand placements and bow hold. With my son being 2.5, the box version didn't last the ride home, but this is nearly unbreakable. It, I think, will also be an easier transition for him to the real violin in a year or so.As far as YM, they were amazing. Really. I accidentally used an old address for shipment. I notified them online, a real person called within 24 hours to let me know what was going on, and they found a way to get it to me without having to reorder. They were better than good. I will make sure to use them in the future.

This product seems very sturdy and a good price for a young child wanting to learn the violin. Most Suzuki Violin teachers use these to get young students used to handling a violin

Mind you, this is just a piece of foam. 3 stars because it serves the purpose for us - violin for one year old

This was not for me, but a Christmas gift. It still made a good addition to the toy instruments and prayerfully a starter in the violin one day

This has been a great training tool for my 3 year old to get started on the violin. Her teacher was impressed with the quality of this in comparsion to some of the cardboard training violins that are also available for purchase. The only downside is that my child likes to bend this right at the neck, a reinforcement in that area would be nice. On the bright side it gives us a chance to talk with her about how she needs to be careful with her violin before she can have a real one.
