The FOD Sports FX-S Motorcycle Bluetooth Headset is a great addition for riders looking for an affordable and functional Bluetooth communication system for their helmets. At $39.99 with a 15% off coupon, it offers excellent value for its features.Unboxing and Setup:The device comes with everything you need to install it:Two mounting options: clip-on or adhesive mount.Speakers that fit perfectly into the built-in slots of most helmets.A flexible mic arm for easy positioning in front of your mouth.I opted for the clip-on mount, which worked seamlessly with my motorcycle helmet. Routing the wires and installing the speakers was straightforward, and everything fit snugly into place.Performance and Features:Audio Quality: The sound quality is decent. It feels similar to sitting in a car listening to music, rather than having headphones directly on your ears. This design allows you to remain aware of ambient sounds, which is important for safety.Bluetooth Connectivity: Connecting the headset to my phone was simple. I tested it by making calls and listening to music while riding, and the experience was smooth.Hands-Free Functionality: Answering calls is easy with the press of a button. The CVC noise cancellation works reasonably well, ensuring clear communication even at moderate speeds.Volume and Track Control: The volume can be adjusted using a twist knob, which is intuitive and easy to use with gloves on. A quick twist changes tracks, while holding it adjusts the volume.Intercom Feature: I haven’t tested the intercom functionality since I don’t ride with others who have a compatible headset, but it’s a nice feature to have for group rides.Build Quality:The device is IP67 waterproof, so it’s ready for various weather conditions. The materials feel durable, and the design is compact enough to blend well with the helmet.Pros:Affordable price, especially with the coupon.Easy installation with multiple mounting options.Decent sound quality for music and calls.Hands-free operation with simple controls.IP67 waterproof rating for durability.Cons:Sound quality isn’t premium, but it’s suitable for communication and casual music listening.Requires careful use to avoid distractions during critical riding moments.Final Thoughts:This headset is an excellent choice for e-bike or motorcycle riders who want a functional Bluetooth system without breaking the bank. It meets all basic needs and performs reliably, making rides safer and more enjoyable.Rating: 5/5 Stars.

This is the second Bluetooth communication system I have acquired. As a new motorcycle rider, I quick discovered that I could not wear my regular earbuds as I wanted to. They kept getting squished. One was damaged as a result of these efforts. I began to look for a solution for listening to music or podcasts and being able to make calls. This product is the ideal solution. I do like my products to excel in both form and function. This is an attractive-looking device. It was easy to set up, since I already set up a different brand for my first helmet. The speakers fit in the recesses set up for such in the helmet. It is supposed to be able to support communications between two riders, but since I ride alone, I have not been able to test that feature. The manufacturer touts this as having "superior sound quality, HD speakers." Unfortunately, I have not found this to be the case. I judge speakers or headphones by the quality of the bass they put out in low settings. In this, the helmet was lacking. Since I mostly listen to podcasts, this will bridge the gap until I am ready to splurge on something more substantial. In all, the product is good for the price.

I am impressed, surprised , and very happy with this item! This isn’t a review of my previous setup, but it had a transparent HUD, I say that in an effort to convey to the reader what I have used in a motorcycle helmet. I have pretty extensive experience with headphone audio, however. From Bose headsets to cheap earbuds from an airplane.Even though I was a little bit skeptical due to the fantastic price, and if I’m honest, initial unboxing. I even put off turning it on because I hate disappointment….luckily I love happy surprises. 😂There are several things that should be addressed with something like this so I hope you don’t hate reading.I spoke of the initial unboxing. The control unit (which can either be adhered to or clamped onto your helmet is lightweight and I’m ashamed to say that I initially “judged a book by its coverâ€; sitting here now, I wonder why I would want a brick hanging off the side of my helmet. The setup of the unit was a breeze and confidence-inspiring in that I didn’t have to modify my helmet and could route the wires within the snaps and velcro of my helmet so that I can be sure that I won’t be trying to smash wires into my helmet as I am trying to ride. This is the second time I’ve installed such a device and this one took me maybe 10 minutes. I have no complaints about the instruction manual.I use an iPhone 14 pro max for my music source. Music was 75% of the reason for wanting something like this. Trying to navigate areas that are unfamiliar and busy can be a real challenge on a super-sport motorcycle so it’s pretty critical that I hear Siri telling me which way to go so that was most of the remaining 25%. I usually don’t care about texts or phone calls while I’m riding, but it’s a plus that I have the ability to deal with calls and be notified of texts. The most critical, but totally hypothetical 😀 notifications are those sent by my radar detector to my phone and passed to my headsets. I am happy to report that these are more than adequate to help me maintain my perfect driving record. The controls on this unit, in my opinion, were well thought out and solid. Actually, that’s when I realized that the weight of the controller wasn’t an indication of poor build quality. The knob rotation and stops for the knob felt really solid. They are immediately responsive, intuitive and do what they say they’re going to do. My mind had that feeling you get when your senses don’t match expectations when I first twisted the knob with my helmet on.As for sound quality and volume, quality, over-the-ear headsets (like my Bose) probably beat it in quality, but they’re two different things. I can’t use over-the-ear headphones inside my helmet and this tops the Bose in volume potential anyway. There may be helmet audio out there that would top this one in sound quality, but out of necessity, they would first have to be uncomfortable and these are not uncomfortable. As for volume, this is able to go higher than what almost anyone would want and higher than everyone needs unless you need to quickly damage your ears. I know I am a little too wreckless when it comes to protecting my ears but these maintain audio quality well past my desired audio level. You can make them begin to distort some at ridiculous volume levels but I wouldn’t have headsets at that high a volume even if I was 18 again. The quality and volume capability of this one makes me seriously question the designers of my last set. It sucked because music is the best at 80-100 mph while you’re carving up your favorite corners (in a well known and isolated!) area. I can hear my music with these. The last set forced my brain to try and assist the headphones with my familiarity of the song. Also, the radar detector is supposed to kind of “jolt†you into observing the speed limit rather than scoffing at it. These do that so I can ride in confidence and not wonder if I am missing the radar’s warning. The battery life of my last one was so bad that they shouldn’t even be offering it for sale, or accidentally put a prototype testing battery in it. Yes, it had the silly HUD also using the battery but it wouldn’t use much more power than a wrist watch. I fully charged this one when I got it and have listened for roughly 8 hours so far. Even if I needed to charge it right now, that would still be 4 times better than my previous setup.I wish I could offer some insight into the 2-way rider communication on this one but I don’t know anyone that that either rides or that I would want to ride with. For the same reason I didn’t ask for a boat anchor to be welded to my bike, I don’t enjoy riding with Harley riders or similar 😀. Joking but I do prefer solo riding. I will say this, for the price and the quality I see in every other aspect of this item, it kinda blows me away that this even has that functionality and there’s no reason to doubt that that aspect would live up to what is claimed by the manufacturer.Obviously, these were provided free for me to review but I am not beholden to the manufacturer to boost their sales and Amazon would prefer that I am critical of the items before writing an honest review. What I do care about is when businesses sell trash products, ripping people off. This is not one of those times.
