Not all of these "brick" or "wall wort" power supplies are built the same. Although the standard center negative adapters are common-place, not all of them have sufficient filtering. The adapter's purpose is to transform the wall voltage (120VAC in the USA) down to 9V DC. It does this by rectifying and then filtering the resulting voltage. In non-musical applications, a certain amount of AC "ripple" voltage can be acceptable, but NOT in the case of audio products, like the effects pedals used for electronic music reproduction. In these applications, almost no amount of ripple is acceptable. At any rate, this converter produces negligible ripple. I am using it, through a "daisy chain" to power two pedals and the result is excellent - no external noise is introduced. In most pedals, to keep the cost down, the use of high quality filter capacitors is minimal to non-existent. Pedal manufacturers rely on end users either using a 9v battery to power the effect (pure DC = absolutely NO ripple) or a power supply that has excellent filtering. That is why choosing the correct power supply for your pedals is so important. This one definitely does the job!

This is a daisy chain power supple kit for up to three BOSS or other similarly designed compact guitar pedals. The wires, while a bit thinner than some others, seem sturdy enough and the connectors are fine. I was not expecting it to include the adapter; I was just looking for the cables, and didn't realize that adapter was included, so a pleasant surprise. The adapter is a knockoff of a BOSS PSA-120S adapter, but is rated at 1A , whereas the PSA is rate at 500mA, so the adapter could theoretically provide power to more pedals than a PSA-120S. I don't know if it is regulated or not (the PSA is) and it seems a bit flimsier (PSAs are quite sturdy), and unlike the PSA, does not have an LED to tell you if you have power or not. But for the total price of this kit, it's almost like getting a spare AC adapter free.

I bought it to use on a Fender Reverb foot pedal and it worked fine. Great price. I would buy again.

This thing spent less than 5 minutes out of the package. Upon opening the package (it didn't even come in a box, just a little anti static bag) I was immediately greeted by stubby power connectors on the splitter. They're the absolute minimum length they can be, and they are right angle so if you have anything with a bezel, good luck. The connector on the adapter was better, but still a hair on the short side. The second thing I noticed was the shorter than advertised cord. With the extension, mine comes in just shy of the advertised 2m, but most of that is in the extension, which makes it not at all usable. But the bigges, most massive problem is the noise! I put this thing on the oscilloscope to measure it before I plugged it in, and it has almost a 1v sawtooth ripple, right at 1khz. Sure enough, plugging this into an overdrive, I got a really crunchy overdriven 1khz tone through the pedal. While I could use this to power other pedals, I don't need this noise in my life. This is going back ASAP.

This adapter is more affordable than its official counterpart, but still works as intended. Currently providing juice to my DS1 and RC1.
