For me, this was exactly what I needed to add an On-Off switch onto a light (or any other electrical device) that is just plug-in to turn on and pull the plug to turn off. The alternative would be to do what I used to do, which was to wire in a toggle switch, but this outlet with an On-Off is quick and easy and inexpensive.

Bought a bunch of these, they're great. Small, but does the job. Have all my home appliances plugged into these things. Our power is a bit unstable during the summer storm season. Lost a refrigerator and washer over it. Bought these and plug in everything including microwave and toaster oven. No further issues.

These are a great way to save power and good for other purposes as well. You can easily put them between the outlet and cell phone chargers, tool charges, and other electronics to avoid parasitic draw (using electricity when not using the device. I also use them on my fish tank to turn off pumps during feeding and during water changes. There are a ton of applications for these. I really like that they have a tiny LED power status indicator rather than a neon light like a lot of other products like this as the ones with neon lights often end up flickering and go out within a few years. These are also quite compact so you can use one in a bottom outlet and the top outlet is still accessible for another plug.

I got annoyed with plugging and unplugging my shop lights all the time. I thought there's got to be something better. I found these plu in switches and they have to be one of the coolest cheapest gadgets I've ever found. I love them and they work great !

The product description shows a picture of two of these outlet switches on the same outlet. Indeed, it does work, but as you can see from my picture, they are actually slightly too big. They don't quite sit down flat on the outlet cover. This seems so typical of most manufacturing, that one detail that would have made it an impeccable product is somehow missed.Otherwise, these outlet switches work well.

If you’re tied of plugging and unplugging a device that lacks a power switch, get these. I use it with a small tabletop electric grille. The wall outlet was getting shaky from constant plugging and unplugging - not anymore.Unlike some others, this model has a Power On light. It’s a great safety feature as it prevents you from forgetting to turn the switch off.

I bought a couple of short run 3-prong extension cables to go along with these, allowing a handy switch for long term installation items which otherwise need to be turned on or off by plugging in each time.These work as expected. The blue indicator light in my case isn't necessary, (for lamps it is obvious when it is on or off), but I can see their application for silent-running devices.In either case, these little switches have proven to be an effective and welcome solution. Long term reliability hasn't been tested for my part as I've only had them installed for a couple of weeks, but based on the solid plastic construction, I can see them lasting a long time.Do get these ones however, over the cheaper knock offs which look similar; when it comes to high draw devices, you want switches with adequate ratings and proper construction. Some of the cheaper ones appear to melt and catch fire. Risking a house fire just to save a couple of bucks isn't smart.
