I purchased this to save our spoons from falling down the garbage disposal. It has the added bonus of capturing other items that I don’t want going into the disposal either. I’m am pleased that it is doing a great job with both!

I was looking for something to block small spoons and small objects from dropping into the garbage disposal and getting damaged or damaging the disposal. A metal teaspoon measurer fell victim to the disposal. I don’t want to reach in even though it has a magnetic activation. We had a plastic one with medium holes that fell apart and covered part of the metal sink around the drain, allowing buildup of film and debris. Then a fine metal mesh that clogged and was a pain to constantly clean. This looked like the perfect solution; and the only item close to what could solve my needs. I was worried about the negative reviews but decided to take a chance due to its perfect problem solving fit. I have used it non-stop for 3 months. I waited to write a review to see if it would break. Based on the in-depth reviews, thank you fellow shoppers, I made a decision on how to use it to avoid problems. Since cracking was an issue I make sure not to smack it on the side of the garbage to clean off. I gently wipe off any debris into the garbage and just rinse off my hand while rinsing it to get any last bits. Since it sits down in the garbage disposal it is below the level of dishes stacking on it. I stack to the sides not on top. When poring off hot water into the sink I remove it to avoid heat tempering the plastic which could cause it to crack. With a few simple conscious use methods it has help up well and I expect it will continue. The flipping that occurs in my sink is easy, I gently push on one side or use my pinky to flip it back. I make sure not to put the water on directly over it but slightly to the side and it works just fine. I highly recommend this product and would buy one again if I needed; since it has not broken I won’t need too.2022 and 3 years later it is still holding up.A little warped since some have not removed it before pouring boiling pasta water on it, but still holding up.

I’d give this a 5 star review, but it’s pretty expensive.Works great in my sink. Let’s small food scraps through but keeps silverware from falling down into the garbage disposal

This little gadget works just as I wanted it to. My new garbage disposal has a very floppy gasket which allows everything (think spoons, small lids, etc.) to fall through and get caught up in the churning mechanism. This object is stiff and blocks unexpected things falling into the garbage disposal. The holes are large enough to have food particles go through and anything larger can be washed down with the gadget removed by its handle. It sits inside the drain and therefore doesn't move. Perfect for my needs.

Have tried many, many drain covers especially for garbage disposal. I do not know why most of the manufacturers make the holes so small. The ones with small holes require constant removing and cleaning out. So far I really like this product. Allows most food pieces to go through it without removing. Will see how long it lasts. Even if it breaks will order another one. The only way to improve this would be to make it in stainless steel.

When I placed the order for the strainer I wasn't sure if it would fit the shower drain but it does and it works well for its intended purpose.

I wish that I had known about this before i got a spoon stuck in my Garberator and had to pay hundreds of dollars for someone to come and take the spoon out and now with this in my drain nothing gets stuck in my garberator anymore. There’s holes in it, so small things still go through. I am so happy that I got this now, I think it’s a must for anybody who has a Garberator

El diseño es muy bonito pero como son de metal se manchan de hongos muy fácilmente y hay que restregarlos casi a diario para quitarles el moho.

We bought two of these for our white porcelain kitchen sink. They started to rust within a week. A complete waste of money.

Purchased for use in a bathtub. Quite ineffective at stopping hair from going down the drain, and also tends to hold soap scum around the rim.
