As a self-proclaimed salad aficionado, I've long been on the hunt for the perfect pair of salad servers to elevate my culinary creations. When I stumbled upon the Fox Run Beechwood Salad Servers, I knew I had found a worthy contender to adorn my kitchen. From the moment I laid eyes on these servers, I was captivated by their elegant simplicity. The natural beechwood construction lends an air of sophistication and rustic charm, seamlessly blending into the aesthetic of my kitchen. The smooth, sanded finish not only looks beautiful but also feels incredibly comfortable in my hands, making the act of tossing and serving salads a true pleasure. One of the aspects I appreciate most about these salad servers is their substantial yet well-balanced design. The generous 11.75-inch length provides ample reach and control when mixing and serving, while the 3.25-inch width ensures I can scoop up generous portions of even the heartiest of salads. The thoughtful 0.5-inch thickness also contributes to the overall durability and sturdiness of the servers, giving me confidence that they'll withstand the rigors of frequent use.Another feature that has truly won me over is the servers' versatility. While they were designed specifically for salads, I've found countless other uses for them in my kitchen. From tossing pasta with homemade sauces to serving up freshly baked breads and side dishes, these beechwood servers have become an indispensable tool in my culinary arsenal. That said, one minor gripe I have is the lack of any sort of protective coating or sealant on the servers. While the natural beechwood is beautiful, I've found that it can be susceptible to minor scratches and stains over time, requiring a bit more care and attention during cleaning and storage. A light coating of food safe mineral oil or a protective lacquer could have gone a long way in preserving the servers' pristine appearance. Also, the servers smooth, rounded edges, while aesthetically pleasing, can occasionally make it challenging to scoop up more delicate or leafy greens. A slightly more defined edge or a subtle scoop shape might have enhanced the servers' functionality when dealing with more fragile salad ingredients.Nonetheless, these minor drawbacks do little to diminish my overall enthusiasm for the Fox Run Beechwood Salad Servers. Whether I'm preparing a simple lunchtime salad or crafting an elaborate, multi-component dinner dish. The server's combination of form and function has become an integral part of my culinary routine, elevating the presentation and enjoyment of my creations. As I look ahead, I envision these salad servers becoming a cherished part of my kitchen for years to come. Their timeless design and versatility make them a practical investment that will undoubtedly see frequent use, from family gatherings to dinner parties with friends. And, of course, they'll continue to be my favorite for tossing and serving up the most delectable salads, ensuring that every bite is as visually appealing as it is delicious.

First off, a great size for salad servers! A slight concave shape to the spoon and a decent length of handle - all this makes for an effective instrument! And the tennis string lines are a fun addition! About those lines, they do not appear to be cut into the wood. I can not feel any indent into the wood, but I wonder if dye was used? If I had to guess, I would suggest a light burn from a laser device. That would discolour the wood slightly, and not allow any bleed from any kind of dye. Not to mention the chemical composition of the dye...!The manufacture recommends "mineral oil" for the wood. There are, of course, other oils that can be used on wood that comes into contact with food. Beeswax and Tung Oil are two that I have used in the past, with great results!Bottom Line - Excellent solid wood construction. Finish sanded to perfection - no sharp angles or splinters at all! With the thickness of the wood, I feel these will last for many years of both green salad and fruit salad! Really, really beautiful workmanship!

These are perfect! So fun, they remind me of tennis rackets! I love the size of them, they are perfect for family sized salads, buffet salads, events and suppers! One thing I don't like is they come unprotected. This means over time the wood, will splinter as it is washed and will get extremely rough. They are akin to Italian wooden spoons. I would recommend perhaps coating them with mineral oil first so they at least have some sort of slight coating for protection, or walrus oil. Using them as they are is just asking them to be ruined in weeks especially if you are using them every day. Overall though, they are perfect!

These Fun Fox Run tennis inspired salad tongs are made from beechwood making them light weight, sturdy and attractive the spoon area allows you to grab as much or as little salad as you want. At first sight I thought they might be difficult to clean because of the grooves but that's not the case. The grooves are not as deep as they appear and are easily rinsed out and washed with a sponge.

PROS:> Large wooden spoons that easily distribute my salads of different varieties> The tennis racket design makes it look aesthetic for display and not just a plain cutlery> They are easy to clean and easy to use as the handles are not too long nor too shortCON:> Can be a hassle to maintain it as you have to oil, which doesn't come with the set
