The fabric, stitching, attachment points, and zippers especially, are all very sturdy. Pockets are generous, well-designed, and well-placed. They can easily hold larger items like binoculars, magnifying glass, and a small field guide. There is even an interior velcro chest pocket and a zippered pocket on the interior lower back of the vest which are not mentioned in the description. The mesh on the back offers lots of ventilation, which is important because my nature-loving kiddo likes to carry a backpack and also overheats quickly in the summer sun. My son is 4 years old, but tall and thin for his age, (46", 40lbs), and the small fits him just fine with room for a fleece and thermals underneath, plus the cinch straps on the sides allow for a closer fit when wearing over a t shirt. My son loves Dino Dana and exploring in nature, so this was the perfect gift for him. He's already worn it on several outdoor hikes in the national forest. This is not a cheap dress up costume piece like others I've seen advertized, it is a legitimate piece of outdoor gear that I'm sure will stand up to many, many adventures.

Oh my goodness this is her favorite new piece of clothing. I got size 10 even though she’s only eight years old because we wanted roomie and it looks good on her. She is average size will grow. The pockets are beautifully done. I’m going to throw it in the washing machine now to soften it, but it is really ready to go. Perfect for traveling! She’s going to have fun fighting items to put in each pocket

The material quality is great and it fits our eight year old perfectly-HOWEVER there are two ink stains on material. We will keep since it is a part of costume/paleontologist wear and I am not in mood to ship back and do ALL the work.

Bought this for ourgranddaughter, age 3, who loves to go on nature walks and collect treasures. Now she has all the pockets. She doesn't go out without it. Very well made, good material, superb stitching.

Bought these for my 4- and 6- year old grandsons in sizes S and M. I think the sizing is good, with a little room for growth. They are 100 percent cotton and appear to be well made, decent stitching and zippers, tabs well done, lots of variety in the pockets - should be useful. Was looking for kid size fishing vests and happy to find these. They’re olive green. I ironed and sewed on dinosaur and dragon patches on the right front shoulder so they can tell them apart easily and to make them a little more attractive to the boys.

Our son loves being outside and exploring. He is also a big fan of Dino Dana. This vest is perfect for holding all his treasures and going on adventures. We just gave it to him for Easter but it seems very well made and is holding up to daily wear with pockets full of rocks. We plan on adding pins as we visit state parks.
