I really wanted to like this and was very excited when it came. However it will not work for my need. It is well made but the couple issues that prevented me from loving it are the skeins that I use should fit but are too tight. Also the inside while smooth isn’t “waxy†smooth. The yarn doesn’t rotate without pulling. So for that reason I will be returning it. Now if you are using balls of yarn this will be perfect. I don’t want to reroll every skein just so I can use it.

But, I did not buy it for my crochet yarn. I keep a roll of toilet paper near...allergies, etc. It becomes to expensive for kleenix. I often get teased by my kids. A roll of toilet paper fits perfectly inside, with the sheet coming out of the cut perfectly, for easy pulling if the amount needed. I love this. Now I can have my toilet paper near and not be embarrassed to have it sitting on my end table, near my chair, as I watch tv.

The outside of the box is beautiful. The inside is not smooth and my yarn gets held up on it. I plan to use some very high grit sandpaper to smooth it - but be aware that this may need to be done.

I knit a LOT. I have a ton of different yarn holders. But somehow I haven't gotten just a regular wooden yarn bowl. I love my ceramic one, but it's not good for travel. I'm always afraid it will break. When I saw this one, I knew it was the answer I was waiting for. The bowl looks just like the pictures and is very well made. The wood has a dark stain and is smooth to the touch. My yarn hasn't caught on it at all. This is a LARGE and TALL bowl. It's much taller than the average yarn cake. It has a top that fits on well but isn't super snug, and it's great for any weight yarn. It holds my cakes well and allows the yarn to feed smoothly. This has become a permanent fixture in my travel project bag and I'm very happy with it.
