I bought these as an add-on to a vehicular emergency kit. They're good for that. They arrived in a nice quality and compact case. I opened them and examined them; as expected, there were two. Each comes in a nice little ripstop bag with an attached whistle, an underappreciated piece of an emergency kit. I tried it out. The whistle is loud and shrill, as it should be.Then, I tried out the "extra heavy" bag- it seemed to be the thickness of any other mylar blanket, but I could be wrong. In any case, I unfurled it and placed it on the frozen ground outside to try it out. I found that the best way to get this over you is to unroll it until you can stand on the bottom of the sack and then raise it, covering your entire body. Then you can lie down.If you are using this outside, I strongly recommend having an isolation mat on the ground or heap up dry leaves to lay on. This bag will not protect you from the intense cold of direct contact with frozen soil. Otherwise, this bag does trap body heat, as it should. It'll work best if used in conjunction with a blanket or sleeping bag. Also, it would be fine for use inside a vehicle. After trying it out, I tried putting it back in the supplied storage bag. My first attempt was unsuccessful. It's not a roomy bag. To get it back in the storage bag, you must get all the air out of it and roll it very tight. It's possible, I managed. The bag seems to be of decent quality; I didn't rip it while putting it on, lying on it, or getting out. This should work in a pinch, but you should have something else to use with it in frigid weather. Recommend as a backup.

5/5 because of how easy it and light weight it is. I've used it a couple times camping and found it extremely easy and fairly sized.

* Overall Impression:-This is a great value for a set of 2 emergency sleeping bags with whistles in a nice storage case.-Note: Some variations only have 1 included, you have to select the 2 pack for 2 of them.* Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Great value for the set of 2 (if you select the set of 2) for the quality.-Come with attached whistles (on the bag) to use in an emergency to help someone locate you.-Brightly colored orange (there is a green option too) to make them visible in an emergency.-Come in a nice, small, portable EVA zippered case and in inner waterproof storage bags.-Case size: 5.9 inches long by 3.9 inches wide.-Small, compact, portable.-Sleeping bag size (opened): 84 inches long by 36 inches wide.-Reflective material, reflects body heat for warmth. Rated to retain 90% of body heat.-Good quality.-Lightweight. When in the bag (not outer case) they weigh 4oz.-No unpleasant odor or scent to them or the case.* Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-They don't tell the weather temperature rating and range for use with these and how cold they are rated for use with. They do say all seasons though. Some bags do tell a minimum temperature rating and range, these do not.* Tips & Thoughts:-This is a good kit for vehicles, emergency prep, storm shelters, go bags or backpacks.-I'd suggest also adding a set (at least 1-2 per person or sleeping bag) of emergency foil mylar blankets as well (not included). They'd give more protection, warmth and shelter in colder weather. They're inexpensive and lightweight and would work well with these for extra cover or warmth as needed. They're small and portable so you could easily store them with these.-Don't try to undo them unless you need to use them. If you do, you likely won't be able to get them rolled back up as nicely and compactly.-These are emergency use vs something you'll want to reuse. You could reuse them if you needed to. But if you're looking for a lightweight sleeping bag for regular use, you likely would want one designed for that vs these as these are plastic and not made for long term use.-You'll want one of these for each person, they are single person sized.

As someone who lives in a state where we get a decent amount of snow and cold weather, an emergency item like this is a necessity. We do a lot of off-roading and general traveling, and I like to keep emergency gear in my car. During the winter months I have a bag I throw in the back with a wool blanket and other items, but I don't keep it in there all the time. These emergency sleeping bags are small and in a nice case, making it an easy item to leave in my car year round. I know they aren't the ideal solution when stranded and cold, but helping retain body heat might make enough difference between life and death. As for durability, they are pretty much the standard thickness as other mylar blankets and bags. I opted for these bags because they are sealed on three sides, making it harder for cold air to get in compared to mylar blankets.Overall I'm happy with the quality. But it's one of those things that's good to have, but you hope you never need.
