I gave this to a person who has been playing the French horn for many years. They said the sound is bright and clear, which I thought would be a good thing. But they told me that a French horn mouthpiece should be warmer. The sound of this one would be more appropriate for a trumpet.It also slips out of the instrument too easily. The clutch is poor and the part that goes into the instrument is more tapered compared to their other mouthpieces. They said that new players will force the mouthpiece too firmly and it will get stuck.Lastly, the plating in that section seems to be a bit thin. They said they think they could see the base metal where it contacted the horn.They said that while it worked, it wouldn't be their favorite and rated it 3 our of 5 stars.

Good for a very last minute backup. Very cheap option if you are playing French horn for fun. Is as shown as the pictures.
