After trying several other litters, I think fresh step is the best for odor control. I'm not sure there is ever going to be a perfect litter, but this comes close. We're a 2-cat house hold so that means twice the smells. It maintains freshness far longer than the others I've tried, including more expensive name brand options. Clumps hold together well during the cleaning and scooping process, and my cats seem to like it.While it's not as dusty as some litters, it still has some dust that is noticeable when pouring fresh litter in the box, but this tends to settle quickly. Also, why does the price of this product fluctuate so much?

I have 3 indoor cats for the past 5 years and have tried many different litters; Fresh Step is the only litter my cats will use. It completely masks the smellOf any cat urine or poo- even when guests comeover I always ask if they can smell anything from the litter box and I have never had a complaint. The litter clumps very well and it’s very easy to scoop, it makes the litter last because you’re only scooping what’s used- the remainder stays in the litter box, it’s an easy to carry box - not too heavy and doesn’t have harmful chemicals! I’ve tried other litters and I’m never satisfied unless it’s Fresh Step- happy cats & happy customer :)

Billy Bob is a large cat and uses his pan frequently.He is a tidy cat and likes consistancy. Fresh Step meets his approval for his needs. There is no bad odors lingering after he uses his pan.We can scoop out waste easily.It holds his solid and wet waste and does not cling to him and scatter litter tracks all over the house. We like all those things about Fresh Step,Billy likes it so it is reasonable pricing for our needs.

When I got my first cat, I kind of assumed all kitty litters must pretty much be the same. I quickly realized how wrong that was. Some barely mask the smell at all. But I have now used fresh step for many years and I have no intention of switching. It masks odors very well and has a nice scent. It clumps well. It is a bit dusty when you pour it in the litter box. It is super heavy, but I think most litters are.
