I’m using this in technically outside of the typical application. Where I should really be using a spiral up cut, I’m using this with excellent results. Application: pocket hole cutting for washer head screws in softwood/plywood.

So, if you're opening this package, you might be tempted to try to grab the bit and pull. You'll have two nice deep slices on your fingers in no time. Its really easy to get out if you don't do this. Tear the sticker off the sides where it says Pull Here. Then, take a small screw driver or something round and thin, and just push the bit out of the plastic from the bottom. There's a hole for this. Why they don't draw attention to it, I'll never know.Oh, and these bits are awesome and better quality than just about any cheap bit you'll find on here.

This bit was sharp and had no issues cutting through the pine and fir I was using. Because of the depth this one is quite versatile. Nice packaging in a solid plastic case.

Good quality drill bit, used it to drill quite a few holes and it is sharp, precise, no wood burn (did not rush the job, did it in several passes). Drill still looks like almost new. Recommended.

Worth the extra money for the genuine "Freud" item - the router-bit is sharp and long lasting. Cheaper bits wear-prematurely when used with hardwoods
