First off, this glue gun heats up quick! I do lots of crafts at home and having a cordless glue gun makes things so much easier! I don’t have to recharge constantly; this will last a few projects back to back before needing to be charged. A great investment for any crafter!

The glue gun heats up fast and the gluing function works as it should but there is a problem with attaching the Makita batteries.I own quite a few Makita cordless products and have eight different 18V batteries of varying capacities, some of which are original Makita batteries and some of which are after market batteries.The trouble with this glue gun is that you need way too much force to slide the glue gun onto the batteries. The plastic base of the glue gun wasn't designed and/or manufactured properly and the channels the battery slides into on the glue gun are 1mm narrower than on original Makita tools. This makes the fit way too tight; so much so that I couldn't even get one of the batteries off of the glue gun without needing to persuade it with a hammer.This extreme tightness also prevents the batteries' spring-loaded locking mechanism from engaging fully with the glue gun on most of my eight batteries. The batteries do make proper electrical contact so you will be able to use the glue gun.This design flaw should be addressed and fixed before any more of these glue guns are sold. I resorted to taking my entire gun apart and using my Dremel to grind down the plastic in a half dozen different areas to get the gun to mount and lock properly. Even after an hour of working on it, the batteries are still tighter than they should be but at least I can insert and remove them without too much trouble.

I am an elementary art teacher. This cordless glue gun has been a game-changer in my classroom. I mount artwork and hang visuals in my room constantly, but I only have a few outlets, being able to use my glue gun anywhere in the room is so convenient and helpful! FYI - My battery from my cordless drill is compatible with this glue gun.
