Basically, the headlight lamp ceases to function if this gets broken. The motors can be really sleek, but it’s inevitable for it to wear out due to constant use.

These are very quiet, and the headlights open very smoothly. I replaced both the left and right side, and they open at the same time and speed. I can't comment on the longevity because I've only used them a dozen times. The quality seems to be very good, judging by the way they operate.I had these installed by a mechanic, so I can't comment on the installation, but, they had the same connection as the originals on my C5 Corvette and the mechanic didn't make any comments on installation, so I have to assume they installed without a problem. I do like the cover to the gears being screwed on instead of glued. If the plastic gear goes bad, it can be more easily replaced with a metal gear.I would buy these again.

Purchased on Sept. 6th, couldn't install for about 5 weeks. Installed on Oct. 19th. Today is Oct. 31st. Too late to return to Amazon and not a single way listed to contact seller that supposedly offers a 1 year warranty. If they are going to advertise a warranty Amazon should require them to post contact information.

So far so good, bolted in just like OEM and so far no issues. A nice alternative to spending huge money for an OEM part or part from an expensive Corvette parts retailer
