Product Description

When Should You Replace the Windshield Wiper linkage?

1

Wiper Blades Rotate Out of Sequence

If the linkage is worn out or the windshield wiper arm is loose, the blades may move out of sequence. Sometimes it maybe a minor issue like a loose nut between the wiper arm and the linkage. In other cases, it means the linkage is stripped.

2

Wiper Makes a Grinding Noise

If the blade arm is attached too tight to the linkage and causing the gears of the wiper blade motor to grind, you may notice that your wiper blades make a grinding noise. If gone unchecked, it can cause the wiper motor to burn out prematurely.

3

Wiper Blades Move Unevenly or Don't Move at All

If you can hear the motor working, but don't see the wiper blades moving, it is the wiper linkage that is broken. This may also be attributed to the wiper arm being stripped from the linkage.

So it's not easy to put on. But it is the right part. If you do it yourself make sure you read step by step instructions because I missed a very important step in alignment. But it's for the money, works perfect. It's actually quite sturdy it looks like the old one that came out.

I purchased this for my 2000 Honda Accord EX v6 Sedan, and although Amazon part check claimed it was compatible with my car, it didn't fit properly. The angled linkage bar rubbed against the motor because the bend in the bar was in the wrong spot by about three inches compared to the old OEM part this one replaced. I manually bent the bar and it works mostly fine, although something still hits something else when windshield wipers are running. I recommend purchasing OEM in order to get a direct fit. This wasn't worth saving the $5-$10 over OEM for the pain it causes me.
