When I go this I immediately tried to get the blade to cut a piece of paper - it did not do well. I then took a fabric strap that I had and tried it on that - it sailed through the fabric with great ease! This surprised me and pleased me. I then wanted to verify the impact portion that should break the glass if needed. I tried it on a stainless steel ruler repeatedly. Each and every time it produced a pop that dented the ruler. This surprised me as well since I have had center punches that snap as well, but the ones that reliably snap cost a fair bit. The only thing that I recognized that could be undesirable is that it does take a fair amount of force that is required to make the device 'pop'. While I recognize that the device will need to have a spring compress a fair bit with a lot of force in order to have enough force to propel it fast, i also recognize that some people might have difficulty with this.If you are not someone that has a fair bit of strength, then you will want to try to operate the device and decide if you want something like this or a hammer-like device that you can hit the glass with.Ultimately, it is my hope that nobody is faced with a situation where this is used for an emergency, but when in such a situation, the reliability of the device is paramount. So far, I feel that this device will be reliable and have no indication of it being faulty or operating intermittently. I will keep this in my center console of my car, and carry the other one in my bag that I carry on field trips with my students.

I have 2 kids and I will do anything to protect them, as any mom would. I feel better knowing these glass breaking devices are in my car in the event of an emergency or accident. I purchased this 2-pack so I can have one in the front seat and one in the back seat. My kids are both old enough to understand how to safely use these so they are aware of both locations. This pack came with practice glass, which I intend to use very soon to get a feel for how much force is required to activate these devices. It should be noted that most of these glass breaking devices are only effective on tempered glass, ie, the side windows and rear window. This also comes with two adhesive mounts, but I likely won’t use them in my brand new car, but some may find these useful. These are items that should be in every vehicle for safety reasons, they are inexpensive and take up very little space. They are similar to fire extinguishers in my opinion, something you must have but hope never has to be used.Update: yesterday my 10 year old son and I decided to test out the pieces of practice glass that came with these. We each took a glass piece and a window breaker. We were both able to easily break the glass with minimal effort. You have to give it a good push but it seems like something that most people would most certainly be able to accomplish in an emergency.

FRONTLINE Window Breaker and Seatbelt Cutter (2 Pack)I have had the other design for these cut and smash emergency tools. These two will work, but with how round and smooth they are, you will need to have the tool pressed into your palm as you push on them. The other plastic design will also need your palm for the glass breaker, but not for the seat belt cutter. These loose one star from me for two reasons. The grip/handling I mentioned already and one of the two did not want to trigger the breaking tool. I eventually got it to work but it was resistant for the first 3-4 attempts. Not what I would want when needed and panic causes you do not stop an think.I am indifferent about the holders you attach to your dash, hopefully either the mount or tool not becoming a projectile when your air bag goes off. Also, it is great they provide test smash glass pieces, but then you have shattered glass to deal with. I did not shatter the glass circles not knowing if I should put on safety glasses or prepare the vacuum.

I had the opportunity to review the, "FRONTLINE Window Breaker and Seatbelt Cutter (2 Pack) Car Window Glass Breaker Safey Hammer Emergency Escape Tool Car Accessories." I was really happy to see that there was a tool like this to review! I wondered why I had never thought to get one and have it on hand before!I was very motivated to try it out as it has 2 in the box, which means, a 2 car family can feel a peace of mind knowing that this little tool can save lives! It's built solidly and comfortable in the hand. It's not heavy, but it's substantial enough to get the job done. The seatbelt cutter is on the opposite end and covered well. This cool kit even comes with pieces of safety glass to try the glass breaker! If you decide to test it out, be sure to do it near a waste basket! The glass flies everywhere! But hey, it works great!Carry it with you when you go out in anyone else's vehicle too, because you never know when it will come in handy. It also has a little bracket with a sticker on it to adhere it to a spot in your vehicle! This is a GREAT Find and something that EVERYONE you know should carry in case of emergency! You could save not only your own life, but someone else's life someday!THANK YOU AMAZON VINE PROGRAM!

I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time but have never pulled the trigger and bought one. I finally did after seeing a TikTok of the crash in the tunnel… I just had to get it. They are nice quality and I picked this brand because it comes with a piece of glass to be able to test the breakers on it. I wanted that because practicing will make me feel better if I ever need it. I have 3 kids and live in Michigan surrounded by water, why a video of a fire made me buy and not a water is beyond me but it was time. I love the added seatbelt cutter. As a mom with anxiety I have thought about how I would get 2 car seat children out in an emergency quickly. So this has given me a peace of mind. I definitely recommend you just never know truly if you’ll ever need it.
