My home is older, and the spigot extends several inches from the wall. It is hard to use a styrofoam cover because it does not fit snugly up against the wall.I like these faucet protectors because they do cover most of the spigot and pipe, are easy to secure, are easy to install and remove, and can be combined with a wrapped towel, if needed, to add length to the protection of the pipe where the pipe meets the wall.

I used to use the formed styrofoam cover. They were a nuisance to install and broke easily and didn’t fit snugly against the house. These faucet socks are easy to install, fit tightly, and look like they will last forever. They don’t cost any more than the styrofoam ones either. What’s not to like?

Aren’t waterproof. Water goes all the way through and they get soaked. Similar reviews are correct. Not worth returning but worth the mention for other potential purchasers. Cheers.
