The price was great, quality was great and went in without issues at all. Update - it's been in over a year without issues. Highly recommended and much cheaper than what was available at the local auto parts store.

Got this when the pump in my 1999 Chevy S10 died and my usual mechanic decided to close up shop. I didn't really want to do this particular job myself...mainly because of the difficulty in accessing the pump.Just put it in yesterday...so no information on how long this pump will last. I am hopeful, but frankly doubtful, that it will last as long as the first one, which I think was 25 or so years. I bought the truck used around 12 years ago and am pretty certain it was the original pump. Other pumps I found online but through local auto parts stores were considerably more expensive than this one, so VERY pleased about the price. Plus, doing the work myself, with three of my sons, one for mechanic-ing, the others for lifting the bed and for fetching and cleaning things, saved me A LOT of money...Removed the bed for access to the fuel tank. I was lucky in that the bolts holding the bed on were not particularly rusty and removed and reinstalled fairly easily, which evidently has not been the case in some of the videos I watched on how to replace the pump.As was the case with others in reviews that I read, I had a very difficult time trying to get the new pump in with the gasket ring that came with it, so used the old one and then it went in fine. The two seemed similar in thickness, but the older one must have been at least a little/probably a lot more pliable because there was no way we were going to be able to get the compression ring in with the new one.Not really sure why they had to change the one wiring plug, but at least they supplied one. Rewiring it wasn't all that hard, but I thought it unnecessary. Three of the four wires were the same/similar colors as the old wiring, so that was good. Making all four wires the same colors would have helped, but only a little, since there was only the one mismatched wire. The problem I have with it was making two of the wires black. I don't get that. At least for my truck making the one black wire orange would have made it just that much easier. I don't know why they didn't. I didn't really care much for the crimping method of connecting the wires, so soldered them and covered with heat shrink tubing and then considerable amounts of electrical tape. Considering the effort required to access the tank, really didn't want to have to get back in there again if a poor connection developed in the crimped tube, and I expect that soldering significantly reduces the likelihood of an open or poor connection later on. Also there are three fuel lines at the top of the pump...one uses a different method of attachment, so that one went on fine, but for the other two I had to reclaim the little plastic parts from the old pump to be able to reconnect the lines to the new pump...don't know why they couldn't have put new ones on the new pump...like the people that sold the fuel filter did with it...not really all that excited to be using 25 year old plastic parts, but fortunately the they didn't break when removing and reinstalling, nor do they appear to have leaked. Discovered the hard way that the ground wire for the pump is/was grounded on the driver's side frame rail near the rear and was also grounded with the tail lights and/or license plate lights that had to be removed to remove the bed...pump worked great once that ground wire was reattached. Experienced fairly considerable anxiety up to that point when the pump didn't work. So far the pump has worked...truck seems to run just like it did before. Fuel gauge seems to work too...

I bought this to replace the pump on our 2000 GMC Sonoma 2.2l. The pump looks similar, but is not exactly the same as the original. It did require replacing the original connector with the new version.. I opted to solder the wires vs. using the included wire connectors. Unlike some other reviews described, I was able to install the pump with the new included o-ring. The trick was to lubricate it with a thin layer of oil. It was still difficult to press in, but eventually I was able work it in so the lock ring would fit. The pump works great, but the first time I went to fill up the gas tank I could smell gas coming from under the bed. After crawling under with a mirror and flashlight I was able to determine it is leaking out from under the black plug mounted on top. I’ve tried filling the tank half to 3/4 way full and it does help a little, but gas still leaks out while driving. I haven’t decided yet whether I will inquire regarding a replacement or go with a different brand altogether. I’m super disappointed to have to pull the bed off and do this job all over again.
