I recently purchased this futon mattress for my 2-year-old daughter, and I must say, she absolutely loves it! After refusing to sleep in the confinements of her crib, the futon has provided her with the comfort and freedom she needs to get a good night's sleep.However, as a parent, I have to admit that the futon does not offer enough support for me on the occasions where she wants me in the room with her for naps, etc... I have noticed that I get up with a slight ache in various joints or muscles, which I attribute to the lack of proper support for an adult.Despite this, the comfort that the futon provides to my daughter makes up for it. She has been sleeping soundly almost every night, and I am glad to see her so content with her new bed. The futon is also incredibly easy to fold and store, making it an excellent choice for families with limited space.In conclusion, I would give this Japanese style futon mattress 4 stars. It offers comfort and freedom for my daughter, but could use a little more support for adults. First I was so excited to receive this in time to place it in my classroom before school begins with students this year. Secondly, I was nervous about it being what I had hoped for. It is Perfection for what I needed: Special Education classroom cozy corner mat for both routine and deregulation breaks. It is soft. I love the color. It fit perfectly where I wanted it. It is worth its weight in gold in my eyes.

This mattress is extremely thin and I can feel everything underneath it. Not really comfortable for long term usage. I was expecting the mattress to expand to 4 inches and have 4 inches of comfort. What go when expanded was no comfort. When it expanded it felt more like small amount of material surrounded around nothing. It is equivalent to a comforter folded.
