This works really well! Installation was a breeze.HINT:1. Make sure you pair your ring sensor first before installing. It will make your install process a lot easier2. If you have a tendency to forget to turn off your alarm before opening your garage door, install this sensor closer to the middle or lower part of your garage door. That will give you more time to react and turn off your alarm.

The Ring Sensor 2 fits perfectly and the adheasive on the back sticks to top element of the garagedoor while the temperatures outside were below 32F.Now I get a typical door open siganl from ring everytime the garagedoor is openend and thus making the garage a part of the protected space if Ring is set to Away mode.

Hats off to whoever dreamed this up! Very elegant design.(The things I previously did with zip-ties and aluminum tape to get the standard Ring door sensors to work on our garage doors was a little junky looking.)This device has a clean appearance and works as advertised.The only caveat I have is the following:Even if installed correctly on the top-most panel of your door, it will not register as open until the door is roughly 1 foot open. Reason: the sensor has to swing almost 1" away from the magnet to register as open. However, this is a good thing if you want to crack the door open for pets and still be able to arm your system.But, if you want it to register as open with only 2-3" gap, then you will have to do as I did and play with adding a spacer underneath the top half of the base plate.Hint to the manufacturer: you could ship this device with a little plastic wedge piece that could be snapped on or off the bottom of the base plate depending on the option the customer desires.

So maybe a touch spendy for a plastic hinge but it works perfectly and there’s nothing that I could find like it. It attaches via 2 sided tape to the top inside of the garage door and as the door opens gravity makes the nest wireless contact swing away from the magnet breaking contact. Elegant simple low tech solution that works and looks professional.

So far it's survived a couple cold snaps in Alberta. Not a prolonged deep freeze yet, but it still hinges just fine so far. And the adhesive is holding up so far as well (prep your surface first)
