A 92" shepherd's hook, while it might seem excessively tall, is exactly the right length for a bird feeder. Sellers of shepherd's hooks include the tines that go into the ground in their length measurements. Once you subtract the length of the tines, the dip of the hook, and the wire hanger for the birdfeeder, 92 inches turns out to be a pretty perfect length, since what one is aiming for is the birdfeeder positioned at 5 feet above the ground. I have a lightweight, plastic birdfeeder hanging off it. It could handle more weight, but you are going to have to make sure that the tines under the hook are well-supported so that your hook doesn't list once weight is added. I watered the ground first, then stood on the tines until they went deep, and then I added a little rock under tines that seemed most likely to sink too deep, particularly the tine under the hook. It's in the ground now perfectly straight and shows no signs of listing. It was easy to put together and seems of quite good quality.

I was wary about the price of this (2 60" for $29) but was VERY pleasantly surprised. It was really easy to assemble, I put the bottom piece into the ground first and put it as deep as I wanted (about two inches of the prongs into ground) and then screwed on each part up to the top piece (crook). It is very nicely finished, attractive, and much sturdier than previous ones with only two legs. It is very straight and holds a flower pot that weighs 12 lbs (after watering). I will buy two more at this price (which is so much lower than any other place I have shopped)

This shepard’s hook is a large diameter, sturdy product. And it looks great in my yard. It’s everything I need it to be and well worth the money. I needed the hook to be a little higher, so I added a piece from the other one the package came with. I then found out I can buy extra pieces from same company to replace the one I used (package of 2, so I can extend the second one as well!)

Used them to hang Halloween decorations on out side work great, and I will use them for plants in summer, very sturdy and strong

This is exactly what I was looking for. It is very easy to put together (maybe 5 mins). No screws needed. It comes with 6 parts— the 4 poles, the ground base with the prongs, and the top hook. You can easily screw together the poles depending on the height that you want. If you want a shorter height, you can use 1 or 2 poles. I put together all the poles to achieve the maximum height because I’m using it for my bird feeder. I filled the feeder almost to the top which is about 3 lbs and the bird feeder is about 2 lbs which makes it altogether 5 lbs. This Shepherd's pole is holding it very nicely. It’s very stable. Install it on wet ground and turn the pole completely clockwise after putting it in the ground to achieve the 100% tightness you desire. There’s a rubber at the end of the hook which I thought was also nice. The curve on the hook is deep enough to keep my feeder from slipping or falling. Now I hope the birds will enjoy it as much as I do :)

I purchased this shepherd's hook to place the bird feeer on that the squirrels seemed to invade. Ha, ha. I looked out the window and a squirrel went up the pole and into the feeder. Aside from that, it is sturdy, easy to put together and mount into the ground. I have not had it long enough to know how the finish will hold up to the rain and such. But for the price, it it lasts several years, it is welll woth the money.

Yep, it was obvious that being delivered it was going to be in pieces. Wish I d gone to hard ware store and bought a one piece pole. Its not that it doesn't work. Its just it will never be as sturdy as a single pole

Well constructed and easy to assemble as well looks good. I recommend a light coating of grease be applied to each segments threads to prevent rusting.

I bought this to hold plants in my front yard where the dirt is quite hard. The stakes are very sturdy and with 4 prongs, makes it easy to step on and get into the ground. It comes with 3 height bars and I'm only using two at the moment. Lots of great options for the price. I'm considering buying another pair.

My hook holds a wind chime on my balcony. I decided not to use dirt in my square plant pot. Instead I placed rocks on top. It hasn’t wobbled or moved yet, and we’ve had some pretty strong winds. Thanks for my perfect pick!

Loved how strong these are and the in-ground spikes provide great anchoring. Good product, highly recommend.
