Well made although delicate aperture diaphragm. Works very well with a smooth action. It has12 veins and the aperture is nearly circular. I was surprised with the quality for the relatively low price.

Pairs great with a butler creek flip cap. Don't spend the $200 or whatever for a professional one (unless you really want to). The DIY method is super easy and works fine. The only thing is that the screw to adjust the iris can sometimes move under its own weight. The can be problematic depending on where you position the screw on the focusing ring or if you adjust the focus ring to put it in a position where gravity would adjust your aperture size.Overall, the product itself is awesome and if you're looking to buy this for night vision use I highly recommend it.If you're looking at this for photography idk how it'll work for you. I can only afford one expensive hobby :)

I wanted to make a poor mans tarsier. I bought this and the matching butler creek cap. I used a dremel to make a slot in the cap so the aperture to adjust. It turned out great and I'm very happy. I can now easily adjust my focus without adjusting my gain or adding/removing light.

Smooth controls for aperture. Decent fitment quality overall. Some machine marks.

Wanted to make some adjustable apertures instead of buying some $250 tarsiers. Worked like a charm with the right butler caps and a razor blade.

Item was received crushed and did not operate properly. Item was sent in just a small padded envelope and had no signs of damage. Returned the damaged item and requested a replacement. Received the replacement and it was also crushed in similar way to the original, but was also missing the lever that opens and closes the iris.

Worked well with butler creek cap for my pvs14. I’d give 4/5 stars only because the little knob unscrewed during use. Then again it’s meant for other things, probably not running around the night with PVS14.... which is why I gave it 5 stars. I had used it for a different purpose.

Worked great to make my own PVS-14 iris at â…• the cost of a Tarsier. Make sure to use some loctite on the slider tab to keep it from coming loose.
