While Gateron Pro 2.0 Yellow switches are somewhat inexpensive linear switches they are certainly not bad linear switches. Here are the specs published on the Gateron web site:-- Stem: POM-- Top Housing: Polycarbonate, transparent-- Bottom Housing: Nylon, Milky-- Spring: Spring steel-- Pins: 3-Pin-- Pre-lubed: Factory lubed-- Operation: 50±15 gf-- Pre-travel: 2.0±0.6 mm-- Total travel: 4.0mmThe Pro 2.0 Yellows are 3-pin switches. They are applicable for both 3-pin or 5-pin PCBs. These switches do remind me quite a bit of the Milky Yellow switches where the main difference is the top housing: PC for the Pro 2.0 and Nylon for the Milky.I'm a bit of a heavy typist and generally use Gateron Oil Kings (55gf activation) or Gateron Box Black Inks (60gf activation) in my daily driver keyboard. The Pro 2.0 Yellows are advertised to have a 50gf +/- 15gf activation force. The +/- 15gf variance is a rather wide tolerance – shared by my Box Black Inks – though the Oil Kings publish only a +/- 5gf variance. In practice this variance is really not noticeable, however.Gateron Pro 2.0 Yellows have a "normal" length stem pole and are not considered long pole switches. They have a full 4mm travel. In contrast, the Box Black Inks have a longer stem pole and a shorter travel distance.I ordered a 36 pack of these switches to test in a keyboard. That's not enough for a full keyboard so I used them in place of the alpha keys and some modifiers. Compared to lubed the Milky Yellows, the Pro 2.0 switches have a lower, "thoccier" sound when installed on a polycarbonate plate. They are smooth like the Milky switches and are a good drop-in replacement if one is looking for a (slightly) deeper sound. I think I'll order another pack to complete that keyboard.Oh, regarding the number of switches in a pack: I'm used to receiving Gateron switches in 35 packs with a 7x5 tray of switches. It seems Gateron is switching that up to 36 packs with a 9x4 tray layout instead. The stock Pro 2.0 Yellows are factory lubed. I opened up a few of them to verify and there is indeed lube on the stems and rails as well as in the bottom housing and inside the stem at the top of the spring. However, the amount applied is somewhat inconsistent and manual re-lubing may be required to achieve a consistent experience. But that said, lubing takes time and effort and I can attest that these are usable out of the box. They are smooth and exhibit no spring ping when installed. In use, the Pro 2.0 Yellows are demonstrably lighter than the Oil Kings and Box Black Inks, as expected. However, they are not so light that I dislike using them. For me, they may wind up in a numpad rather than in my daily driver. The Pro 2.0 Yellow bottom housing has an open slot on the bottom surface and the top housing is transparent with a cutout. This combination allows ample RGB backlight to shine through. Conversely, the Oil Kings have no cutout at all and they actually block backlighting.Overall the Pro 2.0 Yellows are decent switches, especially at their relatively low retail price. They come usable out of the box, which is a bonus. They have a medium weight that should satisfy folks looking for something heavier than lightweight switches.

I left a one star review when I tried to put these switches into my old board and they all bent and broke. However, upon putting them in a GMMK v1 compact, no switch pins bent and they are working beautifully. I just ordered another set. The factory lubing job on these switches is fantastic, they are all very smooth and buttery. With a foam dampening pad under them, these switches probably sound like marbles being moved around in a bag.10/10 am buying more and the next order probably won't be the last

These work and are cheap. A good starting point for mechanical keyboards.

Moved from Kalih white boxy to this and right away feel the big difference. It’s super easy on the fingers and the ears.

Compared to the Cherry's these are smoother and have a lighter actuation while also having a much more chunky click noise.
