The KD Tools 14 Piece 3/8-Inch Drive 6 Point Deep Metric Socket Set features sockets made of fully polished, nickel chrome plated alloy steel. Large hard-stamped part numbers and size on both sides of the socket allow for easier viewing of the socket sizes, and knurled lines make it easy to identify SAE vs. metric sockets. Knurled ends provides excellent grip surface to pull the sockets off the ratchets. This set includes 3/8-inch drive, 6-point sockets packaged on a clip rail. This is a great 1/4" metric socket set the rail the sockets come on is very durable and holds the sockets well. Also want to comment on Gearwrench warranty program. When I received my sockets I had a chrome defect on the inside of my 10mm it was a spot that the chrome didn't stick to for some reason. I wirte to the warranty department at Gearwrench with an attached picture of the missing chrome and the had a new socket delivered to my door within the week. So awesome customer service on their part. A

A little disappointed because they would not stay on my extensions. I tried two and finally had to tape it together. This may not be the sockets fault, could be difference in tool brands. Even at that I’m keeping them because the nut bolt size was right on.

I typically buy Stanley Proto for my sockets but these looked nicer and they are made in Taiwan which typically means higher quality. Nice detail with the knurled face and finish appears good quality.

If I could give these 4.5 stars, I would, but they're not quite perfect. Definitely along the best I've owned, though.I love the knurled base, makes it much easier to turn nuts and bolts using my fingers. The flats inside the sockets only go down about twice the thickness of most nuts and bolt heads, so there's no chance of losing a nut or bolt all the way at the bottom of the socket. The flats are also machined to grab nuts and bolts by their flat sides rather than their corners, which helps prevent rounding. The walls are nice and stiff, but still thin enough to fit in tight spaces. The larger sockets (9mm+) are stepped at the base to make it easier to pull them off ratchets. I love that the size stamping is on 2 sides of each socket, making it easier to spot the one I'm looking for. And they're actually stamped, not "laser etched" or printed. I've got many so-called "laser-etched" sockets that have had the size marking rub off. The selection of sizes is perfect and doesn't skip any size from 4mm to 15mm. The storage rail is sturdy plastic, and the clips are easily replaceable.So why not a perfect 5 stars? The size stamping is kinda faint and hard to read. I've got some old budget Mastercraft sockets that I bought at Canadian Tire 2+ decades ago with much deeper and clearer size stampings. Heck, even the Gearwrench name on each socket is stamped more clearly than the size. That seems like an odd thing to cheap out on.Also, clips on the storage rail can easily slide off on their own at one end. There's a little plastic retainer that's supposed to prevent that, but it's molded too far out to actually do its job, so if you hold the rail by the wrong end, a bunch of sockets can slide right off and fall on the floor. Ask me how I know that... Again, that seems like an odd thing to get wrong when almost everything else about these sockets is so awesome.For the price, nothing beats these sockets. The features are useful and well thought-out. I could overlook the poor placement of the clip retainer on the storage rail, but it seems to me the size stamping could be improved at absolutely zero cost. That would make these a perfect 5 stars. As it is, I highly recommend them.

I've watched some videos on these and from what I've seen and read they are very good quality and are very durable. Gearwrench makes good quality tools I wouldn't be afraid to buy anything they make.

I’m upgrading/expanding my tool collection and that’s why I got these sockets. I’m using the peg-type socket organizer from harbor freight and this set completely fills up the 3/8 deep metric part except for the 20mm. It’s the most complete set I could find that didn’t skip sizes or come with a bunch of extra sockets that wouldn’t fit in my organizers.
