GEARWRENCH half moon ratcheting wrenches, sometimes called starter wrenches, have a curved shape to help when working in tight engine compartments. Wrenches feature two ratcheting box ends, which need only 5 degrees to move the fastener versus 30 degrees for a standard box end wrench. The ratcheting box ends also feature a small lever to reverse directions of wrench with one finger without having to take hand off the wrench. When you need them you need them get to bolts in hard to reach places and the ratcheting switch is dual so you can use the wrench both ways great quality

Gearwrench is a Chinese made tool. However, these tools are a decent quality, and I've owned and used Gearwrench products for several years. If you're a backyard mechanic like me, you can't justify Snap-On, MAC, or Proto tools to do once-a-year or once-in-a-vehicle's-lifetime jobs. These half moon wrenches are only used in situations where a straight combination wrench simply won't fit. For example, starter motors are notoriously difficult to remove without half moon wrenches...ask me how I know. The price point is not bad for these Gearwrench tools.

I don't normally buy tools from China or Taiwan. I prefer to buy American made tools. Snap-on 5pc set is $302 and they are just 12pt box-end, not racheting.

Purchased for a recent auto starter replacement. This wrench was too thick for my application. Still happy with GearWrench products.

Needed a set of Half Moons to use as a TQ adapter for installing up pipes on a 6.4L PSD. These worked Great and are less then 1/3 of tool truck prices. And Ford even calls out these wreches with a specific TQ Value in the Workshop Manual.
